A boy shot in Mattapan tonight off Cummings Highway was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The call came in for a “person shot” and police arrived at 8:25 p.m. to discover a “juvenile male” with a gunshot wound, police said. The case remains under investigation with no further information available.

The Herald has learned the child is 12 years old. No arrests were announced. This remains a developing case.
