Bostonians can make good use of their extra hour of daylight after work as the city is finally in for a week of mild weather, according to National Weather Service forecasts.

“It’s going to feel a little bit more spring-like. It’s going to feel overall a little bit more mild this week, especially compared to the previous week,” National Weather Service Meteorologist Caitlyn Mensch said.

Monday is in for temperatures in the 50s with no precipitation, Mensch said.

Mensch predicted that Tuesday would be the warmest day this week, with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to even low 60s in some locations.

“Boston might have a chance of hitting 60, but it’ll at least be in the mid to upper 50s, … but they do have a shot at it,” Mensch said.

Folks can also expect a breeze about 20-30 mph on Tuesday afternoon, but winds aren’t expected to be as strong as the area saw last week.

Wednesday trends a bit cooler with temperatures expected to stay in the 40s for much of the day.

“They’ll feel a little bit colder than Tuesday but not necessarily wintry feeling,” Mensch said.

Thursday sees the work week’s only significant chance of precipitation, but the NWS does not expect rainfall totals to be substantial.

“We expect maybe a couple showers around during the day, Thursday, and overnight early Friday. So really, really light rain showers – scattered,” Mensch said. “Could even see a couple of flakes out west, but nowhere near Boston.”

Mensch did not anticipate seeing enough rain to accumulate or cause issues on the roads.

Friday and the weekend hold potential for a true bright spot as the city eases out of winter.

“The good news is if you are really a warm weather person, just want us to bring on spring – Friday into the weekend trends warm,” Mensch shared.

Friday could see temperatures bounce back into the 50s before reaching potential highs in the low- to mid-60s on Saturday.
