With a historic Game 7 at TD Garden Monday night, Boston Police said the department will be sending extra officers to the North Station area to “ensure the Celtics game will be a safe and enjoyable event for all.”

The Celtics are looking to clinch a second straight appearance in the NBA Finals, and they’re trying to become the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a series — 19 years after the Red Sox became the first-ever MLB team to do that against the Yankees.

In Saturday night’s Game 6 against the Miami Heat, the Celtics won on a miraculous buzzer beater to force a Game 7.

“The BPD will deploy additional officers in the North Station area to ensure the Celtics game will be a safe and enjoyable event for all,” Boston Police tweeted on Monday.

“We suggest fans use public transportation to get to/from the game,” BPD added. “As always, we urge people to report any suspicious behavior to police.”

Police were also warning fans about counterfeit tickets ahead of Game 7.

“The Boston Police would like to take this opportunity to remind fans to be wary of counterfeits when purchasing tickets for Game 7 between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat,” BPD wrote. “The BPD encourages fans to only buy tickets from authorized ticket agencies.

“Fans who purchase tickets from a secondary source are taking a chance and do so at the buyer’s own risk,” BPD added. “Officers want to proactively curb such activity and encourage buyers to only purchase from official vendors. Purchasing via other means creates the potential for possessing an invalid and/or counterfeit ticket.”

People who have information about counterfeit tickets are being urged to contact Boston Police.
