A Boston police officer was shot Monday night in Dorchester and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the Herald was told.

The report came in around 9:30 p.m. of shots fired on Esmond Street near Franklin park. The Herald was told by a source that the officer man have been hit in the bullet-proof vest possibly saving him from serious injury.
