NextImg:Bears announce 9 training camp practices will be open to public in Lake Forest

Chicago Bears fans hoping to get a glimpse of quarterback Justin Fields and the rest of the team ahead of the 2023 regular season are set to have nine opportunities to do so this summer in Lake Forest.

The Bears have announced nine summer training camp practices will be open to fans between July 27 and Aug. 10 at their Halas Hall headquarters in Lake Forest, with all of the sessions starting at 10 a.m.

Starting July 6, at 10 a.m. fans can go to ChicagoBears.com/camp to get the tickets that are free of charge. Fans can select up to four tickets per date, subject to availability. They will be distributed as mobile tickets.

“This family-first experience is built for all Bears fans alike, with team practices being the center point and many other attractions, games and activities across our campus in Lake Forest throughout each open date,” Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren said in a news release.

As has been the case in previous years, parking will be provided at Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills, with shuttle buses going back and forth to Halas Hall. Individuals must provide a mobile ticket to board the bus, according to the team. Additional information regarding gate and parking lot opening times and the shuttle bus schedule will be available at ChicagoBears.com/camp.

Ride share or guest drop-off will not be permitted at Halas Hall, the Bears said.

There will be four other practice dates over the course of training camp, where attendance will be limited to invited community groups.

The Bears moved training camp to their Lake Forest headquarters ahead of the 2020 season. This will be the third camp open to fans as the 2020 version was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lake Forest officials anticipate the prior operations and practices from a city standpoint to carry over to 2023.

“The Bears have successfully managed the camp the last two years, and we don’t expect any major changes,” Lake Forest community development director Catherine Czerniak said.

In 2022, the team averaged 1,500 fans per day at the practices, where 11 were open to the public and another five were open to invited guests, according to a team spokesman.
