NextImg:Battenfeld: Dems may give Biden a pass on touching, but Scott Brown didn’t

As if Joe Biden needs any more headaches, former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown comes out of the woodwork to remind everyone of Biden’s long, controversial history of inappropriately touching women.

Brown, in an interview on a local podcast, rehashed the story of how he had to issue a strong warning to then Vice President Biden to keep his hands off Brown’s wife, Gail Huff Brown.

“I told him I’d kick the (expletive) out – I told him to stop, so yes,” Brown said of the incident in the former senator’s swearing in ceremony in 2010.

“He didn’t act the way I thought he should, and we called him on it and that’s it.”

Asked about the comments in the “Burn Barrel” podcast by the Herald, Brown, the former U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand, texted: “For us, it’s old news. I called him on it in a humorous way. He got the message. We ended up having a cordial, positive working relationship.”

But Brown’s retelling of the story has put the spotlight again on President Biden’s long history of touching women inappropriately – which he had to acknowledge before running for president in 2020.

“Social norms are changing,” Biden said, admitting that he has to be more aware of keeping boundaries with women.

“And I get it. I get it. I hear what they’re saying. I understand it. And I’ll be much more mindful, that’s my responsibility,” he said in a video.

Over several decades, Biden has been accused of inappropriately touching at least eight women and in one case sexually assaulting a former Senate staffer.

Lucy Flores, a Nevada Democratic politician, wrote an essay in 2019 in which she said Biden came up behind her, smelled her hair and kissed the back of his head. Biden was also seen inappropriately touching actress Eva Longoria.

Democrats are supposed to be the party of women, yet the leader of the party is a confirmed groper.

The question is, when is Biden’s behavior going to be taken seriously? His treatment of women has become a running joke but he’s never really paid a price for his transgressions.

His pattern of behavior over many years would have forced anybody else – a corporate CEO or celebrity – to be outcast.

Why is there one person that the #metoo movement isn’t holding accountable?

Why does Biden get a pass?

Maybe it’s time to call Biden out publicly like Brown did privately. Because so far, he doesn’t seem to have gotten the message.
