An allegedly drunk driver crashed into a Wareham cranberry bog early Thanksgiving morning, according to police.
Alisha McGough, 31, of Wareham, has been charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, and negligent operation following the wreck just after midnight on Thursday.
Wareham police officers along with Wareham firefighters and Wareham EMS responded to the motor vehicle crash on Maple Springs Road — where the vehicle was found overturned in a cranberry bog.
When officers arrived at the scene, a Good Samaritan was helping the driver get out of the vehicle, which was submerged in water.
“Wareham Fire arrived on location searched the vehicle, the water way, and secured any potential hazards,” Wareham Police said in a statement.
Police said McGough would be arraigned in Wareham District Court.
