


A man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly stabbing and shooting four people, including a four-year-old boy, in a domestic violence incident in Mattapan on Monday, Boston Police reported.
“Domestic violence remains one of the most dangerous and challenging situations Boston Police Officers face,” Boston Police wrote Tuesday. “A recent incident in Mattapan tragically underscored that reality.”
At about 11:14 p.m. Monday, Boston Police received a report of a shooting on Regis Road in Mattapan, BPD said in a statement.
At the scene, officers stated they found four victims with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.” A 47-year-old female, 16-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old boy were all suffering from gunshot wounds. Another 18-year-old girl had a stab wound, BPD said.
All four were taken to local hospitals for treatment, Boston Police said.

At about 3:03 a.m., officers pulled over a car at 144 Rowe St. in Roslindale and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect, 46-year-old Calvin Stokes of Mattapan, was arrested in connection with the domestic violence incident.
Stokes faces charges including four counts of assault with intent to murder, being an armed career criminal, assault and battery with a knife, and several firearm charges.
“There is no excuse for domestic violence,” BPD wrote. “You are not alone, and no one deserves to be harmed. If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse or needs help with safety planning, please know that resources are available.”
