NextImg:POLL: 55% of Elites Believe the United States Has Too Much Individual Freedom

According to a poll conducted by the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, 55% of Ivy League graduates believe that the United States “provides too much individual freedom”.

By contrast, only 16% of ordinary US voters agree with such a sentiment.

This is just another sign that American elites have detached lifestyles from the rest of the country. In effect,  the Committee to Unleash Prosperity’s analysis found that America’s top 1% hold social and political views that are radically different from Middle America.  Elites here are defined as people with at least one post-graduate degree, who make at least $150,000 yearly, and who live in high-population density areas (over 10,000 people per square mile in their zip code.)

Curiously, CUP found that 74% of elites indicated that they are financially better off today than in the past. This view is only held by 20% of Americans in total, further illustrating a widening socio-economic gap between the ruling class and everyday Americans. Further, 67% of elites are in favor of the rationing of critical energy and food sources to fight the perceived threat of climate change.

70% of elites trust the government to “do the right thing most of the time.” •

When it comes to education, 67% of elites indicated that teachers and other educational professionals should determine what children are taught as opposed to letting parents have a say on educational matters.

Nearly 60% of elites hold favorable opinions of so-called “talking professions” such as journalists, lawyers, lobbyists and politicians. President Joe Biden has an 84% approval rating from this ruling class cohort.

There’s a clear class divide in the US, which will only grow further as the US government grows more oligarchical and detached from the struggles that Middle Americans face. If this gap is not not fully addressed, we could easily have a revolution on their hands.
