He's a representative from Louisiana. Matt Gaetz was pushing him so I imagine he's basically conservative. (But then how conservative can someone be and still get the votes of the liberals?)

Someone I know who follows these things says "he's pretty good" and "an improvement" over McCarthy.

Weirdly, the Freedom Caucus says they'll give Johnson more wriggle room on government-by-CR than they gave McCarthy. So they're relenting on the very issue they kicked McCarthy out over?
