Good morning kids. Well, here's a bit of surprisingly good news to start the day off for a change:
A federal appeals court reinstated President Donald Trump’s sweeping “Liberation Day” tariffs on Thursday.
The appeals court granted the Trump administration’s request for a temporary stay of a lower court’s order freezing tariff increases across dozens of countries. The Thursday decision puts back in place a key component of the president’s economic agenda. . . On Wednesday, the New York-based Court of International Trade ruled that the president had overstepped his authority in issuing the sweeping new tariff regime, abusing emergency powers and stepping on Congress’ constitutional authority to regulate commerce with foreign countries. The court consolidated two separate cases brought by businesses and state attorneys general in its ruling.
The appeals court gave the plaintiffs until June 5 to respond to its temporary stay of Trump’s tariffs.
I say this is surprisingly good news since the Judiciary has taken it upon itself to both usurp the authority of the president and on occasion the legislative branches and dictate both domestic and foreign policy and legislation from the bench.
While I'm heartened that a court has held that this other court had no authority to stop President Trump from moving forward with his tariff policies, that fall clearly within both his domestic and foreign policy purview. I have no faith in a judiciary that, led by John Roberts refused to hear a case brought by 17 states led by Texas that challenged the 2020 election because he claimed that the states had no standing? And just last week refused to hear the case of a student who was banned for wearing a t-shirt declaring there are only two genders, among other outrages and abrogations. One of the worst abuses of its authority was not only not declaring the Obamacare individual mandate unconstitutional as it clearly was, but Roberts using a red pen to rewrite the law in his chambers instead of sending it back to Congress to rewrite the law and thus force it to do its duty and in so doing piss off the public and put the Democrats and Obama in the crosshairs of an angry citizenry.
The nation itself is on the verge of a dissolution, with political violence — 100% of it aimed at normal Americans, conservatives and Republicans, fomented and committed by the leadership, base and supporters of the Democrat Left, both as the latest eruptions in the ongoing 200-pus year anti-American Revolution and in reaction to President Trump and his success so far in fighting them and exposing the threat posed by them to the citizenry at large.
With all that said, no doubt the courts, despite this latest ruling will continue their wicked ways on behalf of the usual miscreants bringing lawsuits and as in the case of this tInternational Trade Court all of their own doing.
And so, what does President Trump and we as a nation have to lose by defying a rogue judiciary. By not defying them, we merely embolden our domestic enemies to continue acting lawlessly, in the name of course of preserving our "precious democracy" vomit!
When Thomas Jefferson took office in 1801, he faced a judiciary packed with Federalist loyalists thanks to John Adams’ last-minute “Midnight Judges.” Jefferson refused to deliver some of their commissions. One of the snubbed appointees, William Marbury, sued.
That case became Marbury v. Madison.
Chief Justice John Marshall used it to establish judicial review, the principle that courts could declare laws unconstitutional.
But while flexing the Court’s power, Marshall also agreed that Jefferson didn’t have to deliver Marbury’s commission.
Jefferson didn’t gloat. He warned that if courts could rule on everything, they’d become despots in robes.
That wasn’t disrespect to the law. That was a president defending the balance of power between branches. And it set the stage for every future president to challenge judicial overreach when it threatened to override the people’s will. . .
. . . And now, President Trump proposes sweeping tariffs to protect American industries and economic sovereignty.
Two courts block it. They don’t dispute the wisdom of the policy. They don’t argue it’s bad for the country. They just say he used the wrong procedural hook.
Suddenly, the media cries constitutional crisis!
But we’ve been here before. A true constitutional crisis doesn’t come from bold executive action. It comes when no branch has the will to act. Or when judges try to micromanage national survival from the comfort of a bench.
Presidents are elected to lead, not to wait for permission slips.
Of course the danger here, is that future Democrat Presidents GOD-FORBID will use the pretext of any effective opposition (should it miraculously come from a usually feckless and useless GOP or even a Judiciary that actually follows the Constitution in striking down whatever a Satanic Democrat administration forces on the people as is its wont to do, will declare it a threat to the security and freedom of the nation and ignore it.
Well, since that to me is the state of play, the nation itself is, if not over the cliff in a certain sense already, then it for sure is on the knife edge.
So, it's us or them, Mr. President. It's not a situation I think anyone wanted or certainly that I had ever imagined we'd be facing at this point in my life, if at any point in my life, but to ignore the reality is to live in denial.
Let's have it out, once and for all. For all the marbles. Let victory be our's, and may it last a thousand years and may the evil that spawned the modern Democrat party be consigned to Hell forever, please God!
There are over 1 million foreign students in the United States. The largest group by far are Chinese students whose numbers have fluctuated between a third and a quarter of a million. These students are in America to gain training in this country, not only at top universities like Harvard, but at tech companies, before taking their knowledge and skills back to China.
Saudi Arabia, the tenth largest source of foreign students, had the single most famous foreign students of any country who didn’t win any Nobel prizes, but did successfully fly passenger planes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, but didn’t quite make it to the White House.
Despite that, the Saudis continue to send tens of thousands of their students to America.
With Bangladesh in 13th place, Iran in 14th, Pakistan in 16th, Turkey in 19th and Indonesia in 22nd, a lot of foreign students come from the Muslim world and were involved in the pro-terrorist riots calling for the destruction of America, Israel and all of Western civilization.
Notably, few of America’s foreign students are westerners. No European nation even shows up in the top 10 countries for foreign students. The UK is in 15th place and France is only in the 20th. Only Canada, right across the border, is in the top 5, but accounts for only 2.6% of foreign students. Nigeria accounts for three times as many foreign students as France, Iran sends more foreign students than the UK and Pakistan far more than Spain. While most American students who study abroad go to Europe, European students are not going to America.
Sadly, far too many American born students are as malignant and dangerously anti-American and anti-western, IF Not MORESO, than those imported from abroad! That is a whole other issue, the deprogramming of at least three generations of self-hating homegrown degenerate Communists that are embedded in every segment of our society to our great detriment and danger, and preventing future generations from being brainwashed to destroy us from within.
