Good morning boys and girls and everything in between. Before we enter the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping matters to go over. (Rulz for those of you in Sauk Prairie)
- This is an open thread, feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate away.
- Be kind, be nice. The trolls have had another tough month.
- No, you may not run with sharp objects and submit prayer requests.
- Have a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend for those of you in the work world force.
Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.
Prayer Requests:
7/11 – Matthew Kant Cipher requested prayers for Layne, a family friend who is also his son’s FIL. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer and is awaiting further test results to determine whether they treat with chemo or remove his bladder. As of now, it appears to be contained. Please pray that he and his family are blessed with God’s love and grace through this time of trial.
8/13 Update – Layne has had some good news. His PET scan indicated that the cancer hasn’t spread beyond his bladder. Also, it seems to be a less aggressive form of cancer than originally diagnosed. The Horde prayers are blessing him greatly and are immensely appreciated. Please keep them coming!
7/23 – D sent an update on his wife Susan, as they deal with cancer. The last few weeks have been a roller coaster. They cannot operate on the cancer, because it has spread too much. They have started chemo and hope to get it to shrink. Susan’s gallbladder is inflamed, but they cannot remove it, due to the chemo, and her blood sugar is having issues. Thanks to everyone for their prayers; Susan has pulled through all of this and is looking great as they keep praying to the Lord.
8/14 Update – Susan had to go back to the hospital and is still there. It seems like every time they make progress, something else happens and she is back in the hospital. Prayers are deeply appreciated and needed.
7/26 – Coelacanth sent his thanks for prayers for his son. He has come a very long way but could still use more prayers as he deals with vax and black mold injuries. Also, Coelacanth cut his left hand pretty badly and severed two tendons. He will be on light duty at work for 6+ weeks. Prayers are appreciated.
8/16 Update – Surgery for the repair went very well. He had cut 3 tendons, and all were repaired. He has 6 weeks in a split and then limited use for a few months thereafter. Thank you all for all your support and prayers!
7/26 - Brother Tim was discharged from the cancer rehab facility and has returned to his routine of living out of hotel rooms, while working on better housing prospects. He is praising God for all the blessings and mercies!
7/30 Update – Brother Tim found out that the cancerous mass impinged on a blood vessel. He needs a full body scan to make sure it has not spread. He is relieved that he only needs radiation and not chemo to make sure the original cancer stays gone. He’s also out of PTO. He said that sometimes it feels like 2025 will be the death of him – possibly literally.
8/16 Update – The latest scan confirms the cancer did not spread, so radiation therapy will likely start on 8/28. The other problems are not budging, but he is thankful for the news he gets that is good.
8/2 – Teresa in Fort Worth received the good news that her cancerous tumors continue to shrink. She had some not-so-good news, that she has 2 pulmonary emboli, and has been put on a blood thinner, which should dissolve the clots and prevent any new ones.
8/4 Update – The oncological surgeon said everything is looking great. After her next CT scan, they will be planning surgery to remove the tumors. The largest tumor is showing signs of calcification, which means that it is dying.
8/2 – FenelonSpoke requested prayers for P. She was to have an experimental but successful heart procedure which the surgeon thinks will help her arrythmia, pain, and fatigue, but insurance will not pay for it. Prayer that rough places are made smooth for her to have this procedure.
8/4 – Moki posted that s/he could use some prayers. A daughter has gone AWOL, claiming that they don’t love her.
8/9 Update – Moki reported that her daughter has come home.
8/4 – Inogame asked for continued prayers. Baby #5 continues to grow, and the genetic test came back clean. Prayers for mom and baby (daughter #4), and also dad and son are appreciated.
8/13 – MkY sent an update on his wife Judy’s battle with cancer. Her immunotherapy is scheduled for every 3 weeks. Six weeks ago, she had a cold and had to skip it, and it was the best she had felt in a year. So they skipped the last one, too. She is scheduled for it again on 8/14. She’s not hurting. She is sleeping. She’s not healthy, but she’s got stage 4 cancer! September is the next CT scan, and they will find out if the immunotherapy is making enough of an impact to continue. They are very grateful for the prayers.
8/13 – MkY would appreciate prayers for Butch and Harry, who have worked with him for 20 years. Both have recently been diagnosed with cancer. Butch has liver cancer and Harry has cancer in his larynx.
8/16 – Our Country is Screwed sent an update. He said he had his last chemo last week, and has a break before radiation begins. Everything looks good so far. He is easily fatigued, and has to build strength.
8/16 – Hadrian asked for prayers for Her Majesty, who is away on the show circuit, with The Big Dummy until Labor Day. Prayers for health and safety (especially from hurricanes) for them are appreciated.
8/16 – naturalfake requested prayers for a quick and full recovery from a bilateral inguinal hernia. It will be 2-4 weeks before being able to move around without pain, and up to 12 weeks, depending on how it heals. Thank you for the prayers.
8/16 – From about That Time asked for prayers for a daughter, whose baby is overdue. The daughter was scheduled to be induced on 8/17.
8/16 – GV requested prayers for his neighbors, Kathy and Nicola, a mother and daughter. Kathy has a tumor near the base of her brain. She has been in and out of hospice care, and is getting radiation at a hospital an hour away. She is very weak and can barely walk a few steps. Nicola has a heart of gold, and quit her job and moved in with her mother to care for her. They are now saddled with medical expenses that go along with a bedridden patient, plus the cost and difficulty of maintaining two homes.
8/16 – Madmike requests prayers for his friend Jim. In less than a month, Jim went from being a fit, healthy, 70+ runner to bedridden, needing both open heart and brain surgery.
8/20 – rickb223 sent an update. His wife, Stacy, was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometrial cancer on 3/5/23. She had been seeing an oncologist in Plano, TX, but after two years, the chemotherapy was no longer working, and was doing more harm than good. They wanted to try and let her body heal for a couple of weeks. She went on hospice 8/1/25. They thought they would have more time, but God had other plans. She went Home at 10:20 am, to be with her father, brother, granddaughter, and our Lord.
8/22 – NR Pax requests prayers for his father, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s on 8/20.
8/23 – SpeakingOf could use prayers. SpeakingOf’s father’s lung cancer has returned, and due to him missing SpeakingOf’s mother, dad does not want any treatment and is in hospice. SpeakingOf is worried and fearful and heartbroken, and would appreciate God’s mercy at this time.
8/23 – Tecumseh Tea gave a status. She is steadily improving from her heart attack. She said she feels mostly like herself again. She is looking for a new cardiologist, since the one she saw had zero interest in her or her heart.
8/28 Update – Tecumseh Tea is in the hospital again with heart issues. Please pray that they can figure out what is going on and how to treat it.
8/25 – Grammie Winger posted that Rev is doing well, but she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer last week.
8/25 – BurtTC is dealing with a family matter and could use some prayers.
8/26 – Axeman would appreciate prayers. He just gave the verbal approval to move his mom to hospice.
8/27 – Ben Had sent an update on JT. He is doing well and sends a “Hiya” to the Horde.
8/28 - Grumpy and Recalcitrant asks for prayers for Pixy Misa, who runs the morning tech thread. Pixy has been suffering from edema (water retention and swelling of the extremities). In addition to the swelling, there has been significant pain in both feet, and now one hand. Please pray that the doctors and nurses take this problem seriously. Pray that God guides their minds and hands in the diagnostic and treatment processes, so that Pixy may be restored to full health. Pray that He sustains Pixy through this health trial.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.
