Gee guys I sure hope he's okay.
The Late Show was not on the air last night as a result of Stephen Colbert's Covid diagnosis and it has now emerged that he's taking the rest of the week off.
Colbert contracted Covid earlier this week and started off by hosting a show at home -- much like he did during the pandemic. However, the CBS show was pulled yesterday and has also been pulled for the rest of the week.
"Sorry to say, per doctor's orders, I'm going to be out for the rest of the week. Resting up so that I can deliver the hand crafted, artisanal talk show that we so enjoy serving you. In the meantime, a heady blend of Paxlovid and onions in my socks (thank you, Fallon) will be rebuilding my immune system," Colbert said.
He's aggressively unfunny. It's like he's doing a bit to see just how unfunny he can be before you call him on it.
It's all Dad Humor, if the dad in question is aggressively unfunny and only reads Salon.
The move affects guests including Rachel Maddow, who was due to appear yesterday....
Oh no.
Colbert himself had to pause production on The Late Show last year after testing positive in April and a recurrence in May.
So this is his third case of covid this year.
Run out and get your boosters, everyone!
Need some more good news? Here's some more good news. Unfunny dreary robotic liberal Jon Stewart has been fired by Apple because nobody watches him and no one even talks about him any more so they're paying a big amount of money for "prestige" which is simply no longer there.
Sexton quotes people with "knowledge of the situation" who claim Stewart was not fired over low ratings (though it's a fact that the show has low ratings, and everyone knows this ) but because there was a dispute between Stewart and Apple over what guests Stewart would have on. There is a suggestion that Stewart might have gotten into the China Situation, and Apple didn't like that.
Let me propose a cynical counter-theory: Apple fired him because no one is watching the show and no one is applauding Apple executives for keeping a low-rated show on the air. And the people "with knowledge of the situation" are Stewart's manager and agent, who are trying to spin it that Stewart was fired because of his Uncompromising Bravery and not because he's simply a spent force and failure who even liberals sneer is no longer funny and who sounds like a pompous asshole when he puffs himself up and claims that he's going to solve the world's problems.
"Fired for his uncompromising bravery" sounds rather better for Stewart, eh?
Unrelated, except it's about a boring clown with no audience appeal:
Remember this?
Greta Tardberg had to delete a pro-terrorist tweet when it was pointed out that her image contained an octopus, which is supposedly an antisemitic symbol for Jews controlling the world.
Viva Frei linked this picture as an example of an octopus used to represent Jewish control.
Okay just keep that in mind.
Pence wows 'em at a pharmacy.
And what's this?
We see you, Mike Pence.
I've never heard of the octopus thing before. I mean, it's the symbol of SPECTRE, yes, but they're not Jewish. It's kind of an age-old symbol for showing anyone you don't like controlling this or that:
All of this "this symbol means this and this hand gesture means that" stuff is tedious and pretty dumb.
But Tardberg is a stupid lunatic radical.
And it is weird that that octopus is so prominent in her picture. I mean, what's it doing there?
