This won't affect too many people, but I do think it's healthy to begin expressing the correct level of hostility and contempt for people who attempt to subvert Americans' right to free speech.
[Rubio] took that a step further today by announcing that the State Department will no longer issue visas to "foreign officials and persons who are complicit in censoring Americans."
"For too long, Americans have been fined, harassed, and even charged by foreign authorities for exercising their free speech rights," Rubio posted on X, adding, "Free speech is essential to the American way of life -- a birthright over which foreign governments have no authority."
In another post, he said, "Foreigners who work to undermine the rights of Americans should not enjoy the privilege of traveling to our country. Whether in Latin America, Europe, or elsewhere, the days of passive treatment for those who work to undermine the rights of Americans are over."
We can't exile American citizens involved in this effort (yet...) but we can ban censorious foreigners.
Obviously, the global elite --
My mistake, they're not elite and never have been.
Obviously, the global Gold-Plated Mediocrities understand that their agenda is toxically unpopular and that they cannot maintain their power in any democratic system, so they are working as fast as they can to turn former democracies into oligarchies. Stopping all criticism of themselves and their agenda is the first step in the Gold-Plated Mediocrities' campaign to make themselves into tyrants.
