Wow.
Wow.
From a guest essay in The Regime's slam-diary, the New York Times:
Note that this isn't an unguarded spontaneous utterance. This isn't a "Biden Stutter." This is a written statement -- she had weeks to ponder what she wanted to say, and then make sure she said it properly.
And she wants the nation in despair, for a despairing people are a compliant, easily-bullied people.
Via David Strom, who notes:
Despair of course was one of the most powerful tools the Elite had to immobilize us and shut down society. They did everything they could to reinforce the notion that we are powerless in the face of disease, and that only the Establishment could save us.
They demanded sacrifices, symbolic acts, obeisance, and the turning over of our bodies for the satisfaction of the COVID gods, of whom the Elite were the representatives. Their decisions were often arbitrary, but complete obedience was demanded.
And this, Walensky warns, is just the warm up. There is more to come, and we need to live in fear and yes...despair.
...
See? The world is constantly trying to kill you, and you need Walensky and company to protect you.
Embrace your powerlessness and despair. They are the only things that will save you from yourselves!
Very much related to Rochelle's Agenda of Despair:
he House Coronavirus Pandemic Subcommittee on Wednesday demanded for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to hand over phone records of conversations between Director Rochelle Walensky and American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten.
Committee Chairman Brad Wenstrup, an Ohio Republican, expressed his concerns about "potential political interference" in a letter to Walensky asking for the records after Weingarten told Congress she had the CDC head's direct phone number.
Earlier this month, messages obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request from the Fairfax County Parents Association showed that Walensky had a friendly relationship with Weingarten and National Education Association President Becky Pringle. Weingarten's and Pringle's unions together have about 4.7 million members.
"The Department of Health and Human Services is continuing its pattern of obstructing Congress by apparently only producing documents already made publicly available via the FOIA. As a reminder, FOIA does not apply to Congress," Wenstrup wrote in his letter Wednesday. "The Department's obstruction will not be tolerated. The American people deserve transparency."
And how did the Despair Agenda work as far as children's education outcomes?
It worked exactly as designed.
American students' test scores in math and reading got significantly worse last year -- continuing a decade-long freefall.
Driving the news: The decline in math scores last year was the biggest in the past 50 years, according to newly released federal data.
Details: The findings come from a test known as "The Nation's Report Card" -- a continuous, national assessment of 13-year-old students. Results were distributed by the National Center for Education Statistics, a branch of the Education Department.
By the numbers: Math and reading scores began declining in 2012, and average scores are now lower than they were before the pandemic.
The average math score for 13 year olds declined 9 points between the 2019-20 and 2022-23 school years.
The average reading score for 13 year olds declined 4 points between the 2019-20 and 2022-23 school years.
About 8,700 students took the assessments at about 460 schools across the country.
The lowest-performing students scored at levels last recorded in the 1970s, when the assessment began.
Scores declined among all racial and ethnic groups, and among both male and female students, and across urban, suburban and rural areas.
...
What they're saying: Post-pandemic academic recovery should be addressed holistically, including students' mental health, basic skills and teacher absenteeism, said Peggy Carr, the associate commissioner for assessment for the National Center for Education Statistics.
"Students' basic skills were disrupted in a way that we would not have thought before," Carr said. "These data are clear on that point."
But fat-assed uneducated teachers got to "teach class" on zoom calls from Cabo, and that's the important thing.
Meanwhile, the youngest generation will be the stupidest and most timid generation that America has ever produced, and reliant upon The Regime for welfare, pot, anti-depressants, and orgy-porgy.
