The Senate passed a bipartisan resolution Wednesday to restore the formal dress code in the upper chamber following blowback over the loosening of the unofficial rule.
Under the resolution, which passed unanimously, senators will once again be required to wear business attire on the floor.
Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) confirmed a rollback of the dress code last week and the move was quickly dubbed the "Fetterman Rule" over Sen. John Fetterman's for wearing hoodies and baggy shorts.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), who publicly split with Fetterman (D-Pa.) over the latter's lax wardrobe, sponsored the resolution, along with Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah).
"As senators, we should demonstrate a high level of reverence for the institution in which we serve -- and our attire is one of the most basic expressions of that respect," Romney said in a statement.

The U.S. Forest Service is allocating more than $100 million for grants meant to achieve "tree equity," according to a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis.
The Forest Service announced on Sept. 14 that it had allocated over $1 billion toward expanding "access" to trees, including 17 grant proposals that promote "tree equity" with a total value of $101,096,371. "Tree Equity" is a term first coined by American Forests, a conservation nonprofit, that blames the lack of trees in minority neighborhoods on "redlining and other discriminatory policies," according to the organization's website.
The Forest Service argues on its website that planting trees will reduce crime and improve health outcomes. The grants are funded through the Inflation Reduction Act, Biden's signature climate law.

Speaking of handing out taxpayer money to benefit your clients and donors, corrupt congressman Adam Schiff earmarked more than $10 million for his defense contractor donors.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Ca.), who is running for the Senate in 2024, doled out $10 million through earmarks to defense contractors that donated to his campaigns, according to a report published on Monday by Politico.
Schiff, who is running against fellow Democratic Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee, earmarked over $10 million of taxpayer money to five companies to develop military technologies between 2001 and 2007. These companies were found to have donated tens of thousands of dollars to his campaign, according to a review of earmark records by Politico.
"We were always concerned about the pay-to-play aspects," wrote Steve Ellis, who runs the group "Taxpayers of Common Sense," of Schiff's earmarks, to Politico. "If you're getting a campaign contribution and getting your earmark for that same company or for a client of that lobbyist, it has that perception."
The largest donor earmarks by Schiff, totaling $6 million, went to Smiths Detection, which was developing chemical weapons sensors for the military, while another $3 million went to Phasebridge, Inc., which was developing a Naval radar system.
Both of these groups retained a lobbyist, Paul Magliocchetti, who around the same time donated $8,500 to Schiff's campaign committees. Magliocchetti was later convicted on federal charges of illegal campaign contributions and served 27 months in prison, Politico reported.

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is creating its own "ChatGPT" artificial intelligence tool to combat China's race to master artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
The CIA will launch an artificial intelligence platform to give its staff an easier method to access intelligence and information, according to agency officials who spoke to Bloomberg. The effort highlights the United States' goal to outpace China's technology sector as the country continues to grow its artificial intelligence capabilities and hopes to be the world leader in the industry by 2030.
"We've gone from newspapers and radio, to newspapers and television, to newspapers and cable television, to basic internet, to big data, and it just keeps going," Randy Nixon, director of the CIA's Open-Source Enterprise division, said to Bloomberg. "We have to find the needles in the needle field."

The new tool aims to give users the original source of information they are analyzing much more quickly than was previously possible, and will be based on the chat style platform of OpenAI's ChatGPT, Nixon told Bloomberg.
"Then you can take it to the next level and start chatting and asking questions of the machines to give you answers, also sourced," Nixon said. "Our collection can just continue to grow and grow with no limitations other than how much things cost."
It will be available to the 18 different intelligence branches in the U.S., including the CIA, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and National Security Agency (NSA); it will not, however, be available to lawmakers or the general public.
