NextImg: Lee Smith: How Did Our Trillion-Dollar Society of Incompetents Called Our "Intelligence Community" Miss the Attack on Israel?

Before getting to that, a related story which may explain why our "intelligence" services failed to detect the coming attack.

They doxxed the faces of special forces soldiers meeting Mushbrain Fingerbang. The faces are obscured in this picture, but the original photo released by the Junta showed terrorists exactly who they should search for on the internet and then assassinate.

China will use its own AI capabilities to scour the internet for other photos of these men. It will identify them, and then it will turn over their identities to Russia, who will in turn turn over the assassination packages to their Islamic allies.

Well done, guys. Give yourselves all a bureaucrat performance bonus.

How did the Deep State miss the attack on Israel?

Did it have something to do with, oh yeah, the fact that the Biden Administration has a known Iranian spy with top secret clearances working for the Pentagon?

The continuing proliferation of conflicting and contradictory stories leaked by U.S. intelligence services regarding what they knew--and, more importantly, didn't know--about the planning for Hamas' assault on Israel, is more than just a D.C. bureaucratic comedy act. Taken together, the profusion of leaks suggests there are people in offices and agencies across the Beltway who are worried they'll be blamed for missing signals and human intelligence outlining plans for the largest one-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.

The gaps in U.S. knowledge of the attacks and Iran's role must also be understood in the context of a separate but related intelligence scandal. As Tablet reported six days before the attacks, the Biden administration's former Iran envoy Robert Malley supported and facilitated an Iranian spy ring and brought one of the clerical regime's assets, Ariane Tabatabai, into the government. She is still at the Pentagon, where as chief of staff to the assistant director of defense for special operations, Christopher Maier, she holds top secret clearances. It's hardly surprising then that the administration is eager to conceal Iran's supporting role in the Hamas operation and clear the American spy services of any foreknowledge of the murderous incursion of the Iranian-backed terrorist group into southern Israel, no matter how unlikely such claims are in reality.

The "intelligence" community is claiming that of course they don't bother tracking Hamas -- it's not a threat to us!

Smith points out it is a threat to us -- it kills Americans frequently -- and that the NSA spies on everybody.

He then turns to the "intelligence" community's "hey, look over there" deflection, claiming that Israel was warned by Egypt about the attack, so it's all on them.

None of those stories add up, either.

Egypt is a U.S. listening post, which is why it was strange to hear that the Cairo government had given a heads-up about the attack to Jerusalem but not Washington. Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said he was briefed on the Egyptian intelligence story. But if the account were true, he might have asked what the United States is getting in exchange for a $2 billion annual aid package if not previews of every piece of intelligence the Egyptian military and intelligence services collect. Obviously if the Egyptians did have something on a major Hamas operation designed to murder hundreds of Israelis, especially while Washington was in the midst of trying to broker peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia, they'd have given it to the Americans immediately. No, the purpose of that Egypt story was simple and obvious: to keep the media's focus on Jerusalem's failures, not Washington's.

Smith then addresses a bizarre contradictory claim by the US "inteligence" community: It was completely blindsided by the attack, and that's excusable, because of course it does not monitor the completely-not-a-threat Hamas.

But then they turn around and tell us that all of their intelligence on Hamas tells them that their Iranian Partners in Peace (TM) had nothing to do with the attack.

Well which is it? Do you not monitor Hamas and therefore are excused for missing a planned attack, or do you have extensive intelligence on Hamas and therefore can say with certainty that they were not planning this with the US's terrorist ally and nuclear-bomb-making partner Iran?

In fact, they're simply lying: They know, based on open-source intelligence that even the public can review, that Hamas planned this with Biden's friends in Iran.

Open-source reporting shows that Biden officials knew for at least half a year that the Iranians were in planning sessions with their terror assets, Hamas and Hezbollah. Back in April, The Wall Street Journal reported that Esmail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps' foreign terror unit, was meeting in Beirut with Haniyeh and Hezbollah General Secretary Hassan Nasrallah. Hezbollah then fired off a round of missiles from the north, Hamas fired from the south, and another barrage sailed in from across the Syrian border. The Iranians could have sent a courier to tell its allies to fire off a few missiles at the Israelis. But with the Quds Force chief on the ground meeting with the heads of Hamas and Hezbollah, something bigger was in the works.

The United States can't possibly have not known about this meeting, and could have easily followed up directly on the purpose of it, given its capacities inside Lebanon. The Biden administration has allocated $72 million to pay the salaries of both the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the country's Internal Security Forces (ISF). One of the ISF's big tasks is to target Israeli spy networks inside Lebanon. In 2022, the ISF rolled up no less than 17 Israeli networks based in Lebanon.

There is a bizarre bit of information about the Hamas paraglider-murderers, which you'll have to click the link to see.

Moreover, sources for the Times piece claimed that for over a year Iran helped plan the Hamas attack in coordination with Hezbollah, using Lebanon and Syria as training grounds. The Times piece corroborated an Oct. 8 Wall Street Journal article that reported that Iran had planned the invasion and greenlighted it the Monday before. But reporters at the Journal's Washington, D.C., bureau, who had no access to the Journal's foreign sources, were dead set against their Middle East-based colleagues publishing a piece based on their own reporting that made Iran's role clear. Their interest was in protecting their official sources in Washington, who continued to deny any Iranian role in the attack.

Meanwhile, Daniel Greenfield points out another Pentagon employee with family ties to Islamic terrorism.

In 2019, Yousra Fazili addressed a congressional hearing to complain about the arrest of her cousin by Indian authorities. The woman who now serves as Chief of Staff for the Pentagon Comptroller claimed that her cousin was the innocent victim of oppressive Indian authorities.

According to the daughter of Kashmiri Muslim immigrants, her cousin Mubeen Shah had been arrested under India's Public Safety Act even though he was "not a politician or a dissident, he isn't a freedom fighter, or even a kid in the street throwing stones. He's just a businessman. His life's work has focused on bringing economic opportunity to Kashmir."

In reality, as the Hindu Post noted, Shah had "lionized Kashmiri jihadists, agreed with a description of convicted terrorists as 'inspirations for the youth,' and promised that 'we all are ready to spill our blood'" to keep the region Muslim. On Facebook, Shah appeared to have posted a picture describing Mohammad Afzal Guru, an Islamic terrorist tied to the 'The Army of Muhammad', which is affiliated with Al Qaeda, as the "Pride of Kashmir". Guru had been executed for his role in a December 2001 attack on the Indian parliament.

Fortunately for Shah, he had his Fazili family deeply embedded in America's political establishment. Yousra's sister, Sameera Fazili had been brought in as a senior policy advisor to Obama's National Economic Council. And when Biden took office, she became the deputy assistant to the president and the deputy director of the National Economic Council.

When Shah was arrested, Sameera and Yousra Fazili "dialed friends in the State Department" and the State Department demanded information about him from the Indian government. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a radical leftist sympathetic to Islamic terrorists, agitated for his release.

Soon Shah was out and Yousra Fazili was in, joining her sister in a high-level position in the Biden administration. Where Sameera had worked on the economic side of things, Yousra became the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs three years after agitating on behalf of a terrorist supporter.

DHS, Pentagon, State Department. There's a reason why you keep reading stories like this regarding U.S. government employees linked to radical groups, including terrorists. It's not because the USG can't vet, or doesn't know. They know. It's a choice.

The Pentagon appoints people with known terrorist sympathies to oversee nuclear programs but the government will put you on a list for reading Lord of the Rings and 1984.

This story is about the UK, but the exact same program was undertaken by the leftwing here, first, to redirect government efforts to surveil actual terrorists to instead use that power to harass and arrest enemies of the left.

Author Douglas Murray published a scathing review of the British government's counter-terrorism Prevent program, which has apparently reported that authors like George Orwell, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis can radicalize readers.

In his column, Murray described how Britain's Prevent program was founded to support counter-terrorism efforts, but has gradually swayed into a focus on only extremists from Islam and "far-right" ideological mindsets. He evidenced this claim by citing that Prevent was consulted by activist groups such as Hope not Hate, which he argues believes that people who voted for Brexit and are against illegal immigrants are far-right.

He further noted that Prevents' "Research Information and Communications Unit" (RICU) has previously listed historical texts as red flags. Essentially, if someone is reading "1984," or works by Lewis, Tolkien, Aldous Huxley, or Joseph Conrad, they should be suspected of being a far-right extremist terrorist. Murray's own book was on the list.

Yes. Obama wanted more "balance" in the US government between those who wanted to stop Islamic terrorism and those who wanted to aid it or even conduct it.

And this is where we are.

They've turned us inside-out.
