Kamala Harris has been enjoying an undeserved vacation in Hawaii. She jumped on to a Zoom call to explain to her donors, "Go fuck yourselves, I ran a flawless campaign."

She looks like she's been living in the woods for a while.

That video below, and some commentary. Before that: David Pflouffle admitted that Harris's own internal polls always showed her behind.

So they lied to the public and their donors, then.

Kamala's campaign was doomed, and everybody within the campaign pretty much knew it from the start.

For all the JOY!, the WEIRD fact that the campaign insiders never acknowledged publicly and even hid from donors was that their internal polls never showed Kamala ahead. In fact, their hopes lay in public-facing polls that showed the race tight or Harris even ahead.

Campaigns are expected to spin, but from the sounds of things the Harris campaign was more a con job than a serious attempt to win the presidency.

Having raised $1.4 billion and spending even more than that, all the happy talk given to donors was pure BS. The consultants got paid astronomical sums, media companies raked in the dough, and Democrats who contributed their money were fleeced.

Lindy Li, a Chinese-American woman on the DNC fundraising committee, has been complaining loudly about this. She feels that the Harris campaign lied to her about their chances for winning, which then caused her to inadvertently lie when she cadged donations out of people.

I kinda thought her complaint was a bit silly. Of course they're not going to admit they're going to lose. That kind of information would be very closely held in a small circle of people, maybe five or six in total. This just wouldn't be shared with a mid-level fundraiser like Li.

That said, the Kamala campaign's new spin -- you can't blame us for failure, because we were always doomed and the polls were clear on that -- does make Li's complaints more valid.

One thing I noticed there, in addition to Kamala's persistent vegetative insobriety:

Kamala speaks vacuously about people "keeping their power."

Tim Walz speaks of people "shining their light" into darkness. He also thinks that Democrat partisans must "be the hope" that other Democrats need.

The left has created a parareligion. They speak using some vocabulary borrowed from actual religion, but twisted to be secular, new agey, and Marxist.

It tells people they have their own divine power inside of them. There is no need of god; anyone who believes in the leftist creed is a god.

"Keep your power" sounds a lot like "keep your faith," except faith is a humble virtue, putting your trust in a power greater than yourself. Telling people to "keep their power" isn't humbling; it's a call to pride. The left is very literally leeching ideas from religion and giving them a perverse spin.

Tim Walz's call to "shine your light" into the dark world similarly suggests that Democrats have no need of God, because they have the god-like power of shining their own well of holy light into the world.

Kamala Harris has long attempted to offer voters some kind of secular alternative to religious meaning. That's why she's always stupidly babbling about "space" and "time" and "Venn diagrams." She's joining the leftwing herd in pretending I F*ing Love Science (TM), and also putting forth The Science (TM) as a religion. Believe in The Science (TM) and your life has meaning. The Science (TM) provides purpose, guidance, redemption, and ultimately transcendence.

I always used to goof on people like this. They spit on religion but can't just then live bravely in a life without religion. They can't just accept the consequences of a godless universe. They miss the meaning and rootedness religion provides, so they spin out their own godless religious system that pretends to fill these needs.

They denounce religion, and call themselves enlightened and "brave" for doing so, but then attempt to create their own ersatz, generic religion without that troublesome, judgmental god.

I think Eric Hoffler said "You can have a religion without god, but you can't have a religion without the Devil." And that's what they've done. They've created a religion based on simple hatred and demonization of all that is "unholy," all that is non-progressive, wholesome, normal, and fulfilling.
