Mostly sci-fi crap.
This one has some actors in it from Christopher Nolan movies so it tries to trick you into thinking it's a Christopher Nolan movie.
The visuals are nice but the plot is the typical blah blah blah New Shiny Thing Turned Into an Action Plot blah blah.
A plane hijacking movie starring Idris Elba. I don't know why, but I like every thriller set on a plane. Red Eye, Flightplan, Non-Stop. I might give this a try.
Wow, a movie which attempts to lecture you about how Climate Change will affect your day-to-day life. We're just in the full WWII-style blatant propaganda phase now.
This has nice visual design -- the future, as imagined from the 1950s. I have no idea what it's actually about. It's an Apple TV show, not a movie.
Another War of the Worlds remake. Looks like this one is trying, sort of, to be faithful to the book. At least it's set in London. It's actually titled War of the Worlds: The Attack, which strongly suggests this is about the early invasion and will not be the full story. They'll try to stretch this bad boy out.
Oooh, stretching bad boys out is TIGHT!
If you care, the big self-published Kindle book of 2013 or whenever, Silo, was made into a movie.
Have you noticed "Lockdown Movies"? Movies shot during covid. Whenever you see a small cast mostly confined to a single location, it's probably a lockdown movie.
Also, if it looks like it was shot in Iceland or Hungary or somewhere they usually don't film movies, it's probably a lockdown movie.
This movie, LOLA, was shot in Ireland during the lockdowns. It's a WW2-set found footage movie about a couple of sisters who discover a technology to receive radio waves sent from -- get this -- the future. They attempt to use this information but they wind up screwing everything up.
An ordinary man is seized at gunpoint and forced to drive Nic Cage across the city.
I don't mean a character played by Nic Cage. I mean Nic Cage abducted this guy. Contact the police.
