How many damned colors can one house have? And that is a small sample of the paint cans in the boiler room! Too make it even more ridiculous, the labels indicating the specific colors tend to wear quickly, so if I don't write the codes in Sharpie, after a few years they are lost to the mists of time.

Luckily I have demonstrated remarkable (and rare) restraint when it comes to painting. I may be the worst painter on earth, so I have chosen to ignore the cheapskate part of my homeowner's psyche and had my contractor do the work. His prep of 90+ year old plaster walls was simply incredible. It looks perfect!

Of course I will now seal the rooms against all intruders who might damage the perfect walls and paint!
