What would Valentine's Day be without women?
Don't let them erase women by changing the language
A thread on the importance of language. Emphases added below:
We started with transwoman. You were threatened if you did not use the new term. We were all "nice". We agreed. What's in a word? Sure. If that makes you feel happy. Ok. We were kind. 1/
2/ Then something happened. We we were saying transwoman - a noun to denote a person living a particular lifestyle. All was good.
Then it switched. And the switch was dramatic, fast, and full of vicious threats. You could see it in real time on Twitter.
3/ Suddenly the space was demanded. Trans woman. Not transwoman any more.
It's just a space. Who could complain? Whatever.
4/ If you said TW with no space you were a bigot, a monster, a transphobe. The space was demanded. Required. Style books rewritten. News outlets instructed. And what was that about? You could see it in real time. It was a wave. Why? . . .
And who was in charge of demanding the changes?
7/ Trans woman means there is a kind of person who is trans and that particular person is a woman. It makes no difference what you think you're saying. It matters what it means.
8/ And it means this in LAW now.
What a clever trick. Who needs to rewrite laws if you have redefined the words used in them.
9/ This is the definition now in the UNRUH civil rights act in California (cal civil code 51).
By LAW women may not have a single sex space because by LAW women no longer exist. Not as you know the word anyway.
Part of the graphic cited:
10/ Did you know the TRAs don't have a word that means adult human female in their language? Ask them. You'll see. You can't speak of a group that doesn't have a word.
This is an existential battle and they have taken our words. We are taking them back.
11/ Words MATTER.
Women EXIST.
We will keep our word that means adult human female. You cannot have it.
Men are Men.
There's more at the link. Ever wondered why there are so many "linguists" on the left?
Other Trans News
On Monday, Buck Throckmorton posted a great Morning Rant: The Trans-Children Era is About to Be Memory-Holed & the Perpetrators Will Be Disavowing Involvement. It started with a NYT piece acknowledging the growing phenomenon of detransitioners. (Don't comment on old threads. But this one is worth re-reading!)
The New York Times! And politicians suddenly bailing on their leftist constituents!
There have been a few other developments, too.
Protect the Public's Trust (PPT), a nonprofit watchdog, filed a Freedom of Information Act request for "records of scientific evidence, studies, and/or data to support the Assistant Secretary's claim that 'gender-affirming care is medically necessary, safe, and effective for trans and non-binary youth,'" as well as for "records of surveys of medical professionals regarding the value and importance of 'gender-affirming care' for minor children."
In response, HHS produced only a single document--a two-page PDF called "Gender-Affirming Care and Young People." The document is also on HHS' website and is not a scientific study, but rather a brochure that declares that "research demonstrates that gender-affirming care improves the mental health and overall well-being of gender-diverse children."
It supports the statement with a footnote to a single study that showed that transgender-identifying young people were slightly less suicidal when receiving treatment -- 51% who were receiving such care were suicidal, slightly lower than the 62% who weren't receiving hormones but wanted them. The HHS document also states that puberty blockers are reversible and hormone therapy is partially reversible.
I wonder why the HHS didn't make these data clear to the general public?
A possible answer. Do you agree?
Radical trans activist is quietly removed from new WHO transgender health panel - after calling for children to be rushed onto puberty blockers
Odd that the WHO would rely on activists to advise it. Or maybe that's not so odd.
Joe Rogan is clearly a hater. Listen at your own peril.

Time to get creative again, men? Or maybe not?
