Targeted assassinations are happening in the middle of New York City, so obviously the city prosecutor is focused on imprisoning a Good Samaritan who had the audacity to protect a train full of people from a nutjob.
This looks like a professional job, though this could be an antifa hit.
The New York City Police Department asked for the public's help in apprehending the unidentified gunman who allegedly shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan early Wednesday morning, decrying what investigators deemed a "premeditated, pre-planned attack."
The Hilton Hotel was hosting the UnitedHealthcare annual investors meeting, and police said Thompson had been in town from Minnesota since Monday and was staying across the street.
"It appears the suspect was lying in wait for several minutes, and as the victim was walking to the conference hotel, the suspect approached from behind and fired several rounds, striking the victim at least once in the back and at least once in the right calf," NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press conference. "Many people passed the suspect, but he appeared to wait for his intended target. The suspect fled first on foot, then on an e-bike, and was last seen in Central Park on Center Drive."
The shooting came as tourists flock to the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, which will take place just blocks away from the scene later Wednesday night.
A manhunt is underway as the suspect remains at-large.
"I want to be clear at this time, every indication is that this was a premeditated, pre-planned and targeted attack," Tisch said. "Millions of people will be enjoying the tree lighting tonight, among other holiday events, and the NYPD will be out there with them, keeping them safe."
Here's why I think this might be a leftwing/antifa hit:
Reached by NBC News, Thompson's wife confirmed there had been threats against her husband but said she did not know specifics.
"There had been some threats," Paulette Thompson told NBC News via a phone call. "Basically, I don't know, a lack of coverage? I don't know details. I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him."
Police were in the process of conducting a search on Thompson's hotel room to investigate further, Kenny said.
People are saying this looks "professional," but I don't know. He is calm enough, but he shot the guy right in front of witnesses. (Yes I know that a Mafia killer might shoot someone in front of witnesses -- I saw The Godfather.)
Executing a health care CEO feels like an antifa thing to me. But Chris Wray says that organization doesn't exist, so I must be wrong.
He fled the assassination on a bicycle, which is a good way to get away in NYC. You don't want to be stopped in traffic. Get on a bike and ride it to your getaway car parked a mile away.

He looks like a Taylor Lorenz disciple.
Normalizing the wearing of masks in public is a great victory for antifa and other serial criminals.
I'm not sure why he used a silencer, given that he shot the guy in the middle of the sidewalk with witnesses around him. Maybe NYC has that "Shot Spot" system and a gunshot would alert police faster? I dunno. Just doesn't seem like a stealth killing at all. But maybe he was stalking him, hoping for a quiet shot, but never got the chance to kill him quietly.
This guy claims -- and I don't vouch for this at all -- that he can "scrape" Citibike user information. He says the bike is one of those Citibikes you rent from docking stations.
Meanwhile, the jury is deliberating in the Daniel Penny case. Glad we got that killer in the dock, huh?
