I thought, wrongly, that the Dump Biden movement was over and we could all just enjoy ourselves. It's not over. They are going to fight for at least the next two weeks, until the "virtual nomination."
Rep. Adam Schiff on Wednesday became the most prominent elected Democrat to publicly call on President Joe Biden to drop out of the race.
The announcement by Schiff, who is running for US Senate in California, makes him the first Democrat to urge Biden to step aside since the failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump over the weekend.
"While the choice to withdraw from the campaign is President Biden's alone, I believe it is time for him to pass the torch. And in doing so, secure his legacy of leadership by allowing us to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election," Schiff said in a statement.

Schiff praised Biden's legacy in his statement but added, "our nation is at a crossroads."
The vile, scheming Coupist Schiff of course took the opportunity to #RaiseTheTemperature of the discourse and claim Trump is an unbearable threat to Muh Precious Democracy:
"A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November," he continued.
Biden stupidly adds oxygen to this fire by stating he would in fact withdraw, if his doctors told him too.
Telling your enemies there's a chance of their victory encourages them in their fight.
Weird that this "foreign policy expert" doesn't understand that simple rule.
President Biden said in a new interview that he would consider dropping out if he was diagnosed with a "medical condition" by doctors -- giving his clearest sign yet of faltering in his insistence he will seek a second term.
The 81-year-old president made the remark in a BET interview taped Tuesday when asked what it would take to prompt him to reconsider his candidacy.
"If I had some medical condition that emerged, if somebody, if doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem," Biden said in an excerpt released Wednesday.
Biden thus far has refused to consider retiring despite a groundswell of concern from Democrats that his unsteady, confused debate performance on June 27 sets him on track for a landslide loss on Nov. 5 against former President Donald Trump, the 78-year-old Republican nominee.

Then you can see that whatever this statement was supposed to specifically mean, it was some kind of sneer about a Bronze Star winner's service, and how he has done nothing with that Bronze Star, unlike... you guessed it, Beau Biden.
Not only does Joe Biden use Beau Biden as a way to shut down any questions at all, but there's a lot of Stolen Valor going on: Joe Biden speaks as if he himself won the Bronze Star, instead of his son.
He takes that tone of "Do not question me, I'm a Bronze Star winning veteran," apparently believing that if any member of his family is a veteran, he's a veteran by proxy.
