Chuck Ross: A "libertarian" anti-war rally has become a free-fire zone as the "libertarians" can't decide whether to ban pedophile Scott Ritter from participating, or to welcome him as libertarian pro-child-s3x policies would suggest.
An anti-war rally slated for later this month has been thrown into disarray by disagreements about a convicted child sex predator's participation, with many speakers threatening to pull out of the Libertarian Party-led event if it booted the pedophile.
Pressure mounted internally for the Libertarian Party to disinvite Scott Ritter from the rally after the Washington Free Beacon reported about Ritter's criminal past, which includes a 2011 prison stint for masturbating online in front of an undercover cop he believed to be an underage girl. He was arrested twice in 2001 after showing up for what he thought were meetings with 14- and 15-year-old girls. But as of this writing, Ritter's status as a featured speaker for the "Rage Against the War Machine" rally is still in limbo.
...
"The Libertarian party has long been a home for those who have questioned the role of government in regulating sex between adults and minors."
Why yes, yes they have. Now that they've got pot legal and can gay-marry each other, legalizing sex with minors seems to be the next Foundational Freedom they want to deliver us.
Among his defenders: Former Fox commentator "Judge" Andrew Napolitano, who himself left Fox after sexual harassment charges involving "numerous male employees" were lodged against him.
As inquiries about Scott Ritter's inclusion at the rally increased, the organizer began getting cold feet.
"The hit pieces have started to drop," she wrote. "I feel terrible about this situation, but we think it's best if you withdraw as a speaker for this event. We appreciate your anti-war advocacy so much and I wish I'd had a better plan to get out ahead of this. I'm so sorry about how this turned out."
"So be it. But you have given them a victory," responded Ritter, who added that his detractors were "cowards."
That's such a Scott Ritter answer. He's always striking these Unconquerable Hero poses, especially when he's trying to hook up with children at a Burger King. He shows how good he is at the word scrambles ("You see, Bobby? SFIER is 'Fries," Bobby. Bobby, you have a hot mouth, did you know that?") and then talks about the Military Industrial Complex being "terrified" of his "untamed passions."
Donors to Project Veritas have sent the Board of Directors a letter telling them they're in violation of the state law governing charities. They say they donated to a James O'Keefe fronted organization, and by firing O'Keefe, they're basically swindling the donors.
Congress is spending $3.6 million to... um, name? ... the Michelle Obama Trail in Georgia.
Can you build a trail? It's just a path in a semi-wooded area, right?
F*cking possums make trails. Did they just spend a lot of money to train possums to walk back and forth over the ground to form a trail?
As part of the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill passed in December, Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA) earmarked $3.6 million to extend the Michelle Obama Trail outside of Atlanta.
The hiking trail was constructed in 2018, and originally spanned 3.8 miles, connecting Georgia State University's Clarkston campus to Gresham Park, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. It was extended another 2.2 miles in 2021.
The federal funds will go toward another extension: 4.5 miles that will connect Waldrop Road to Martin Luther King Jr. High School. Eventually, the county hopes the trail will connect with the proposed Michelle Obama Park, and join a network of nearly 22 miles of trails as part of the local PATH project.
You seem to be spending a lot of money on trails, which are unpaved routes.
I bet you I know how we wound up spending millions on "The Michelle Obama Trail" and the "Martin Luther King Jr. Trail" and all the rest of it: Because five years ago the left began an effort to say that everything that white people do is "problematic" because black people don't feel properly "welcome" to do it as well.
Among the activities targeted? Hiking, which apparently has a "white supremacy problem," because white people aren't being aggressive enough in marketing hiking to black people, letting black people know are allowed to walk on unpaved trails if ever the fancy strikes them.
Yahoo set to lay off 20% of its entire staff, including 1000 let go just this week.
Yahoo has become the latest tech giant to announce massive layoffs, as it works to restructure its advertising technology division.
The company announce on Thursday it plans to lay off more than 20 percent of its total workforce, affecting nearly half of Yahoo's ad tech employees by the end of the year -- including nearly 1,000 employees this week.
...
The move comes as many advertisers have pared back their marketing budgets in response to record-high inflation rates and continued uncertainty about a recession.
With the announcement Thursday, Yahoo is just the latest in a string of technology companies to announce layoffs, wiping out thousands of jobs that pay a combined $12 billion annually.
