NextImg:Democrat Congresswoman Assaulted In the Elevator of Her DC Apartment BuildingMeanwhile, Congressional Democrats Call Republicans "Racist" For Opposing DC Council's Proposal To Treat Murder, R@pe, and Other Violent Crimes More Leniently

The skel who attacked her was probably just looking for some Bread (TM) to Feed His Family (TM), as AOC always says.

Note: Bread (TM) now comes in the new and improved flavors of "Air Jordans," "iPhone 13," "Louis Vuitton handbag," and "60 inch LCD TV with TrueBlack (TM) individual-pixel-dampening technology."

Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minn.) was assaulted Thursday morning in her Washington, D.C., apartment building, her office said.

The attack does not appear politically motivated, her chief of staff Nick Coe added.

The assault, which occurred in the building's elevator around 7:15 a.m., left her bruised, according to a statement from Coe. The lawmaker called 911 and the assailant fled.

"Rep. Craig defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but is otherwise physically okay," Coe said in a release, noting that "there is no evidence that the incident was politically motivated."

Craig told reporters on Capitol Hill Thursday that she was having "a bad morning," but didn't go into further detail.

Coe also said Craig is asking for privacy.

You mean: Craig doesn't want to be asked about having to face the chaos and violence the Democrats have visited upon the Commoners of the country.

"Violence is becoming all too common in our country, and it breaks my heart," [NY Congresswoman Yvonne] Clarke wrote on Twitter.

Thoughts and prayers, huh? I thought that "thoughts and prayers" didn't work, and that this was an empty sentiment to cover up the fact that the lawmakers offering "thoughts and prayers" are refusing to actually act to stop these crimes.

Meanwhile, The Hill completely forgets to mention the extremely-related story that the House was voting today to strike down the DC City Council's rabidly-insane and Sorosian "reform" of criminal law to punish murder and r@pe more lightly in DC.

Congress actually has the last word on the laws that govern DC, and they had a vote whether or not to allow the Woke, BLM-loving DC Council's newest proposal on decriminalizing crime to stand.

Of course Democrats called Republicans "racist" for deciding that crime should remain illegal.

House Democrats accused Republicans of harboring racist motives this week as the House voted against two new laws from the D.C. Council that the GOP charges are "radical" and dangerous to residents of the District of Columbia.

Republicans called up two resolutions that disapprove of the two D.C. Council laws and passed them in a mostly party-line vote. One of those laws allows non-citizens and illegal aliens to vote in the district and the other law reduces a wide range of penalties for violent crimes.

I wonder how the Angie Craig feels about reducing penalties for violent crimes in the city she just got assaulted in.

Well don't bother asking her, media -- her spokesman says she wants her "privacy."

In floor debate, Democrats said the GOP push to reject the two D.C. laws was a direct attack on the mostly minority population of D.C. On Thursday, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C. called the resolutions "paternalistic" and implied they are motivated by racism.

"By scheduling this vote, I can only conclude that the Republican leadership believes that D.C. residents, a majority of whom are Black and Brown, are either unworthy or incapable of governing themselves," she said on the House floor.

On Wednesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., accused Republicans of targeting minorities. She said GOP lawmakers "claim they believe in the sacred right to vote while denying that right to vote to an overwhelmingly Black city," and accused Republicans of trying to "meddle into the business of D.C. residents."

"They're singling out the residents of the District of Columbia and expanding in the history of disenfranchisement that goes all the way back to the legacy of slavery," she added.

Despite these explosive charges, 42 Democrats voted with Republicans to pass the resolution disapproving of the law allowing non-citizens to vote, and 31 Democrats voted to eliminate the law reducing criminal penalties in the District.

These Democrats were not "racist," though. Only the Republicans voting the same way as these Democrats were racist.

But Senate Democrats -- and decrepit criminal Joe Biden -- will likely approve the law reducing penalties for violent crime in the city they live and work in, and if some of them get killed because of that, well, what can I say?

Under the Home Rule Act, laws passed by the D.C. Council are spiked if resolutions of disapproval are passed by both houses of Congress and signed by the president -- which is unlikely to happen given Democrat control of the Senate and opposition from President Biden.

"While we work towards making Washington, D.C. the 51st state of our Union, Congress should respect the District of Columbia's autonomy to govern its own local affairs," the White House said this week of the two resolutions.

...

Republicans noted that crime is soaring and that the D.C. Council law reducing criminal penalties would only hurt residents, tourists, foreign diplomats and others in the nation's capital.

And Democrat Congresswomen taking the elevator in their apartment buildings.

Sure seems to be an extremely relevant story to mention.

But nah.

It would be RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA to mention this.

You'd think that this screamingly-obvious connection would occur to a "journalist" covering DC.

And I'm sure it did.

But it was withheld from readers because it hurts The Narrative.
