NextImg:With IVF Executive Order, Trump Bows to Radical Liberals

In his first term as president, Trump said he was proud to be “the most pro-life president” in American history.

Now, he is actively seeking to increase the number of unborn babies who are killed — all with the funding of the U.S. government. On Tuesday, he signed an executive order to expand access to in vitro fertilization.

IVF results in more abortions on an annual basis than the traditional abortion industry. Couples or individuals seeking to have a child through IVF usually create around 7 to 8 embryos, assess which child they want based on sex and/or genetic quality, and then indefinitely freeze or discard the rest — meaning they kill some of their children to have just one. These embryos have the unique DNA of individual human beings. The only difference is that they are living outside of their mother.

IVF centers on the selfish desires of parents and treats children as commodities. It often deliberately excludes a biological mother or father from a child’s life. This includes single women seeking motherhood and same-sex couples who hire a “surrogate” to carry an IVF-conceived child. In this way, IVF severs the relationship between parents and children and deprives children of their right to be raised by both biological parents.

In a post on X, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “The Order directs policy recommendations to protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for such treatments.” In other words, the executive order represents the preparatory stage for the Trump administration’s funding and promotion of this abominable practice. Trump, in a news conference Tuesday afternoon, said, “I think the women — and families, husbands — are very appreciative of it.”

Normal American families do not use IVF. Normal American families, in the absence of being able to have biological children, might choose to adopt children.

But Hollywood celebrities — or ultra-wealthy, ultra-progressive types — choose to use IVF so they can avoid being pregnant or have a baby when natural conception is no longer possible. In either case, the children are set up for a life of being treated as a fun prop for their parents. This is what Lily Collins, Sarah Jessica Parker, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyra Banks, Amber Heard, Kim Kardashian, and Cameron Diaz have done. (LISTEN FOR MORE: The Spectator P.M Ep. 109: Another Actress Is Glamorizing Surrogacy)

In the case of the actress Amber Heard, she paid another woman to bear her child so she wouldn’t have to deal with being pregnant and could raise the child on her own terms, without the involvement of her child’s father.

And this is what Trump wants to pay for?

IVF is turning familial bonds into commodities. It is sacrificing the lives of countless children so that selfish people can create their ideal child. This is exactly the progressive delusion that is destroying the foundation of America.

Trump has made a mistake on this one. He better back out now, lest he become a champion for insufferable woke celebrities who treat their children like toys, rather than the American family.
