It’s not all that surprising, given that it happened in an iteration of the dreaded Friday news dump, that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s revelations about the true genesis of the Russia hoax have not yet become the story of the century.

It is that. The legacy corporate propaganda press will deny this fact to the moon and the stars, but that doesn’t change how historic Gabbard’s Friday release is. (RELATED: Corporate Media Disregards Russia Hoax Revelations)

We now know what we’ve suspected, however strongly, for the past eight years, which is that a cabal of Deep State operatives and Democrat politicians conspired, using a manufactured lie which originated out of an opposition-research shop affiliated with Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential campaign, to run an information operation aimed at accomplishing a coup d’etat against a duly-elected president of the United States. (RELATED: All the President’s (Obama’s) Men and Women)

This has never happened before in the history of the nation.

Arguably, something much less elegant and more direct has — namely, that there are many who believe the CIA, or elements within it, teamed up with the mafia to assassinate President John F. Kennedy in November 1963. We don’t have proof of that, and it’s pretty clear we never will.

The coup plotters and executors must not be allowed to escape accountability.

But we do have proof that Donald Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama and his inner circle knew for certain what the “Steele dossier,” a pack of cooked-up lies which steered their believers into a suspicion that Trump was in league with, or even under the control of, Russian strongman Vladimir Putin and that Putin intervened in the 2016 election to rig it for Trump to win, was. (RELATED: The Danchenko Trial Is a Window on the Corrupt Ruling Class)

There was never a grain of truth in this accusation. More than that, Team Obama knew it was a lie because they helped craft the lie. And they laundered it through friendly operatives in the legacy corporate propaganda press so as to give it a patina of respectability, then used the laundered lie as justification to first spy on Trump’s campaign and then prosecute allies of his without justification.

And the “investigation,” which was a kangaroo mob run by remnants of Team Obama, tied up the Trump administration for its first two years. That cost Trump’s party control of the House of Representatives in 2018, which led to his impeachment and the shutdown of his legislative agenda.

In any real respect, the Obama coup d’etat did not fail. Trump wasn’t removed from office as a result of it, but he was rendered at least somewhat unable to do things he was elected to do. Thus, there were real effects of the coup on Trump and those who supported him.

Treason is by no means too strong a word to describe what Team Obama has done.

Now, Gabbard has referred her findings to the Department of Justice. As of this writing, it’s unclear what criminal charges will follow.

But I can say this with clarity: this cannot go unprosecuted. The coup plotters and executors must not be allowed to escape accountability.

At this point, we’re waiting on the judicial system to release grand jury testimony on the Epstein case, which has served as a stand-in for all of the cultural, moral, political, and economic rot of which this nation’s corrupt elite are guilty of spreading. But as horrid as the concept of the rich and powerful gleefully satiating their sexual urges at the expense of teenage girls might be, and I mean no minimization of it, Russiagate is far more serious and corrosive in a democratic republic than a string of sex crimes.

With this, we’re talking about the end of that democratic republic. We’re talking about breaking that republic and turning it into something else. We’re talking about making our elections nugatory, about making policies, programs, and even violations of our rights institutionalized, weaponized, and immutable.

Team Obama decided to confer upon itself the powers of a star chamber. It held itself above not just the law but the will of the American people.

Charges must be brought, indictments must be secured, and trials must be held.

I have no illusions as to how this will go. Prosecute John Brennan, Jake Sullivan, James Comey, Susan Rice, or Barack Obama in Washington, D.C., and no jury is likely to convict. We already saw that in the first round of prosecutions based on revelations about Russiagate.

But what we know from Democrats’ efforts at lawfare is that the process is the punishment. It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend a federal criminal case. Trump has spent tens, if not hundreds, of millions on legal defense arising out of the many spurious cases brought against him.

Team Obama must be forced to defend their actions in front of the American people, under oath. Blanket denials and dismissals will not do.

And by Team Obama, I mean to include Obama himself. The head of the snake. The man who said yes when his oath of office instructed him to say no.

What Obama did to Trump was treason.

And a price must be paid for it.

If not, it won’t just be Trump and his administration losing credibility. It’ll be the United States of America.
