NextImg:Obama: Avatar of the New Anti-Semitism

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
’Cause I’m in need of some restraint.

Thus wrote Mick Jagger in “Sympathy for the Devil,” which came out in late 1968. Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. had been murdered that year; American cities were convulsed with rioting. LBJ had stepped aside. The Democrat convention in Chicago was taken over by the Yippies and Mayor Daly’s cops. It wasn’t Sgt. Pepper time anymore, said Jagger. The dissolution of all order is not a groovy trip at all. It’s satanic.

Rock on, but don’t forget I told you so.

Barack Obama has always loved to dissemble. He treats the ideals and mores of America, the ones that motivated generations to give their last measure of devotion, as mere memes, to be played with and discarded once they have served their purpose. Famously, he described himself as a screen onto which others project their own wishes and expectations. He allows that, not ever committing himself, always ready to say, when pinned down, that others have parsed him incorrectly, and it’s their bad. He draws a line in the sand and then blows wind over it until it disappears.

So was his foreign policy.

He seemed to stand tough in Syria but, in the end, blew wind over his line in the sand and asked Russia to take over. Poison gas, shmoison gas. You were a fool to parse my words incorrectly. And Putin, shmutin — he’ll cut him some slack if he doesn’t make trouble before 2012 elections, and he’ll set up Romney with the complicit media for looking like a fool about distrusting Russia. And then the bill came due, and Obama said nothing about Putin’s invasion of Crimea and the Donbas, regularizing treaty-breaking and territorial war in Europe. Of little lasting consequence as long as Obama got to keep power.

My moment where I saw the Jagger’s devil underneath the cool and brilliant veneer was when the 2008 primary campaign made public Obama’s 20-year discipleship under Jeremiah Wright, the rabidly anti-Israel pastor, champion, and friend of the rabidly Jew-hating Louis Farrakhan. Wright, whose reaction to 9/11 was to command God to damn America and to say the murder of thousands of civilians was just “America’s chickens coming home to roost.”

Association with that kind of thought back then was deadly. Obama announced he would have something important to say about it, and I and many Americans were hopeful that this intelligent and well-spoken man might show depth of character and humility and, thereby, achieve redemption. As a person of faith, to whom the struggle for redemption through humbly returning to God is the great theme of human history, I hoped that this might be a tremendous turning point in our society, a moment for moral grandeur.

We all know what happened. Instead of expressing any humility or regret for his association with such hatred, he chose the path of toxic narcissism, and like an accomplished psychopath, projected his own sin onto others in a truly mind-boggling fashion.

And naïve America, always ready to seek redemption, all too aware of its proclivities to sin, swallowed it.

He was and remains no less the anti-Semite than his preacher. He just raised the game to a new level, fooling even someone as savvy and worldly wise as Alan Dershowitz into thinking that he really stood in the great bipartisan post–World War II tradition of fighting anti-Semitism and supporting Israel against the last stronghold of exterminationist politics – the despots of the Middle East.

In return for the trust of Dershowitz and millions of others, Obama skillfully and with psychopathic levels of deception and dissembling undid the America–Israel alliance while simultaneously reviving the moribund terror mullahs of Iran, financing them and green-lighting their atomic aspirations. The final act of his administration was to clear the passage of a Security Council resolution declaring the holiest of all Jewish historical sites to belong to others by right and the Jews to be international criminals for living in their ancient capital and worshipping by the site of the Holy Temple. Obama is back. The gaping holes in Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities have been the locus of Obama’s third term. He’s been there as ever, allowing us to project our own delusions on his blank screen, while he uses the cover to accomplish what his suavely masked hatred wishes to achieve.

It took him quite some time to react to the satanic orgy of torture, rape, necrophilia, murder, and abduction that was Oct. 7. It took that time to realize that to maintain his cover, he would have to mouth the necessary pieties. But it was clear from his lack of meaningful passion that he would use the first opportunity to help us parse after the fact what he really meant.

He is, as ever, cautious. He knows that his most effective card is to play on the guilt of a country that is willing to reexamine itself sincerely.

Sincerity is what a psychopath lacks. As Groucho once put it, sincerity is the most important thing in life — once you can fake that, you’ve got it made. And, so, Obama set out to show once again that “every cop is a criminal” and every sinner a saint.

Here’s Obama at work this last week

If you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth. And you then have to admit nobody’s hands are clean, that all of us are complicit to some degree.

As Nellie Bowles, who is no longer taken in by the man, accurately parsed it: “It takes two to tango. Hamas killed infants point-blank; I never replace the toilet paper roll.”

Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me

It is satanic, attempting to obscure every moral distinction under a fog of generalized guilt. Who are we, after all, to condemn wanting to wipe out an entire people and get an erotic high from it at the same time?

What contempt this man has for America and each and every person in it. Against the flickering lights playing over the ruins of Hamas’ underground empire of death, we can see this man finally for who he has chosen to be.
