Romanian Joe Bidens Pounce
Romanian authorities arrested Călin Georgescu, the popular populist who prompted self-styled pro-democracy forces to call off democracy when he looked en route to win the nation’s presidency, on Wednesday in traffic. Reuters reports that “after questioning Georgescu for several hours, they said they were formally investigating him on accusations of forming an antisemitic organisation, promoting war criminals and fascist organisations, and communicating false information.”
Did they also go through his wife’s underwear drawer? That seems a tactic favored by such cretinous figures in authority. Georgescu posted on Facebook: “The communist Bolshevik system is continuing its heinous abuse. They are looking to invent evidence to justify stealing the election and to do anything in their efforts to block a new candidacy from me.” (RELATED: Stop the Steal in Romania: A Sinister Case)
Bezos Goes Postal
Maybe Jeff Bezos trading in his lady friend for a newer model infused him with better ideas. “We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets,” he tweets of the Washington Post’s op-ed page. “We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.”
Yes, newspapers matter less than they did 30 years ago. But the Washington Post, the most important newspaper in America’s most important, at least politically speaking, city moving right strikes as both positive and quite unexpected. “I am of America and for America, and proud to be so,” he reasons. “Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.”

Donald Trump announced intended cuts of around 10,000 jobs at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said he “thinks he’s going to be cutting 65 or so percent of the people from environmental. And we’re going to speed up the process, too, at the same time.” The agency employs more than 17,000 people on a permanent basis. It did not exist prior to late 1970. The United States did. How?
A Marshall Plan for the Alphabet People
The Times of London reports that one of the U.K.’s largest “LGBTQ+” activist organizations may need to fire about half of its staff of 114 due to the Trump administration’s cuts to USAID. “In recent years the GEF [the State Department’s Global Equality Fund] has been Stonewall’s largest funder,” the Times reports. “Charity accounts show the GEF increased its funding for Stonewall year on year, handing over £137,254 in 2021-22, rising to £204,442 in 2022-23 and reaching £233,583 in the most recent set of accounts.” Why did the U.S. government fund the gay-rights movement in other countries? How did the U.S. government go $36 trillion in debt?
DOGE at MSNBC
MSNBC convinced Rachel Maddow to take a pay cut. And then, this week, the network cut much of her staff. Do you think she would have accepted the pay reduction if they had first slashed her staff? Corporate overlords usually go about such downsizing with a plan. In this case, they appeared to have borrowed the plan from Elon Musk.
