Today, Catherine, Princess of Wales, released a heartfelt two-minute video in which she disclosed that she has been diagnosed with cancer. With her trademark grace, Princess Kate thanked well-wishers and neatly sidestepped the furtive rumors that have enveloped her for the past two months due to her absence from public life. She also expressed her gratitude to her medical team and explained why the cancer treatment has kept her away from her royal duties.
When she easily could have attacked the media or the public for speculating and intruding, she instead thanked the public for the love they have shown her. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too,” she said. “As is the love, support, and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. Kate is quite the opposite of Meghan Markle, who abandoned her royal duties in 2020 and fled to California in search of fame and fortune. Worse, Meghan sought to make that fortune by claiming that the royal family is racist and awful because they make her do things like curtsy to the queen. In doing so, Meghan all but destroyed her husband’s bond with his brother and sister-in-law. As a result, Harry is not aiding his brother’s family, which includes three young children who are presumably suffering given their 42-year-old mother’s cancer diagnosis.
People magazine reported earlier this week, citing anonymous sources, that Meghan and Harry had been left in the dark regarding Kate’s condition. “They are aware of everything that goes on back in England, but are being left out of any details regarding Kate,” said People’s source. “There is clearly no trust.” Evidently, the familial alienation perpetuated by Meghan has reached such an extent that the pair is not remotely involved in helping Harry’s family at this time of great crisis.
Right now, Meghan should be supporting cancer-stricken Kate by shouldering the royal responsibilities the princess is unable to fulfill due to her chemotherapy treatments. With King Charles III also stricken with cancer, Meghan’s involvement would be needed now more than ever to maintain the royal family’s commitments to the people of the United Kingdom. Instead, Meghan is focused on her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which she is using to cash in on the royal ties that she so resents.
In a world in which Meghan Markle had not decided to ditch the royal duties she signed up for by marrying her husband, she would have quickly issued a statement alongside her husband sending love to her sister-in-law and committing to take on some of Kate’s workload. Instead, she and Harry sent a brief message that did not promise any support. “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” they told Us Weekly. And prior to Kate’s announcement of her cancer diagnosis, the attitude of Meghan’s inner circle toward Kate was one of mockery. Page Six reported last week that sources close to Meghan and Harry said Meghan would “have been annihilated” had she released a family image that was photoshopped, as Kate did.
Luckily, the Princess of Wales is 10 times the woman Meghan is. In the face of a cancer diagnosis, she has embodied resiliency and strength. And facing a barrage of rumors, she has shown unparalleled grace — and an understanding that the public is invested in her every move given her royal status. Throughout her 13-year marriage to William, her commitment to her duties and unwavering dedication to serving the British populace have remained constant.
The royal family is way better off without Meghan Markle. They should strip her of her titles now — and make Kate the duchess of Sussex as well as Cambridge. Why does Meghan get to be a duchess when she only uses the title to benefit herself?
