NextImg:How I Spent My Wednesday

I awakened feeling extremely uneasy about finances. I called my very small bank and asked about my account. To my horror, I had much less in it then I thought I had. Lots of that was debits to an immense bank called Chase. I called them up. After a VERY long time on hold, I reached a woman who told me I was being debited for payments on my Chase credit card to GEICO for car insurance. I was also being debited for an immense amount of ATM withdrawals in banks and other entities in my late son’s home state of South Carolina.

The problem (among many other problems) was that I did not have a Chase credit card. I never had a Chase credit card. And I never had any kind of insurance at GEICO. To explain to the official at Chase these very basic truths took a full hour of pure frustration. Plus, I realized that I was going to have some major overdrafts.

I was already in a terrible state of mind and body because of the so-called “war on drugs” which deprived me of desperately needed meds for my stomach.

Then, more calls from Chase about overdue payments on a credit card I never had possessed or used. That took a good 45 minutes.

Then a sneering phone call from my GI doctor, who threatened me with big troubles if I even tried to get stomach medicine. This is what America has come to. The medical profession as Gestapo. Who had this bright idea?

Then more calls about band problems, all caused by fraud by some people in South Carolina.

Chase is totally unhelpful. Surely this is against the law. But it will take time to get it straightened out, and in the meantime, I have more overdrafts than I ever had in my life. If only Chase would help.…

But they won’t.

I also had a long call with American Express. Their man — located in Mexico City — was tremendously polite and helpful.

What the heck happened to Chase?

And this does not even start to cover my problems with the medical world, which has become basically an enemy of the people or at least this person. When did they give up on helping people and only work on looting people?

I’ll tell you more later.
