In the aftermath of that attempted mass murder in Boulder, Colorado, when a crazed illegal alien from Egypt with alleged Muslim Brotherhood ties named Mohamed Sabry Soliman used a makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails to set ablaze 12 people staging a pro-Israel rally, we now have our newest controversy.
Naturally, because it involves the corporate media and the Left, it’s something which is a controversy despite the fact that it isn’t controversial at all among sane and rational people.
Soliman was here in the country illegally. He came to America on a tourist visa in 2022, overstayed that, got a work permit from the Biden administration so he didn’t have to leave, and then overstayed that. He should have been sent home to Egypt and almost certainly would have, as soon as the Trump administration’s law enforcement agents got around to him. Now that he’s up for at least attempted murder (let’s hope the more critically-injured of his victims don’t expire and bump him up to the big-time), there is no talk of deporting him; he has hard time to do first. The question now becomes what to do about Soliman’s family. None of whom are American citizens, either.
Soliman has a wife and five children. And the media is now attempting to make a cause célèbre out of his oldest, a 17-year-old newly-minted high school graduate named Habiba.
From CNN’s writeup of the case…
The family’s arrest threatens to derail what looked to be a promising academic career for Soliman’s oldest daughter, who graduated days before her father’s attack and had recently won a “Best and Brightest” scholarship from the Colorado Springs Gazette.
In her scholarship application, Habiba Soliman wrote that her family’s move from Kuwait to the U.S. provided a chance for her to “fulfill her dream” of pursuing medical school, according to the Gazette.
She wrote about her work as a volunteer in a local hospital and about overcoming her initial difficulties after moving to the U.S. two years ago. One of her teachers praised her for becoming fluent in English in that short period and said she soon emerged as a leader in the classroom.
And if you’re finding yourself fighting off the temptation to weep for poor Habiba, there is more. The Daily Mail…
The daughter of an Egyptian national accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at pro-Israel protesters was an award-winning student hoping to study medicine in college.
Habiba Soliman had applied for a scholarship from The Denver Gazette, and shared how much she has learned and grown as a person since immigrating from Kuwait two years ago.
“Coming to the USA has fundamentally changed me,” Habiba said in the essay.
“I learned to adapt to new things even if it was hard. I learned to work under pressure and improve rapidly in a very short amount of time.”
But now, she and her family are now set to be deported, following father Mohamed Soliman’s arrest over the weekend.
The 45-year-old patriarch had overstayed his visa after entering the U.S. under the Biden administration, however the legal status of his wife and children remain unclear.
In her scholarship essay, Habiba revealed her struggle as she learned English as a sophomore at the Thomas MacLaren School in Colorado Springs.
She was also required to take a foreign language — and opted to learn German.
Her difficulty speaking the native language meant she had no friends and was often alone in her sophomore year, according to the Gazette.
OK, but…
In the years since, she had become more involved in activities at the charter school.
Habiba organized events to build school spirit by starting an Arabic club. She also participated in Big Brothers, Big Sisters to help middle schoolers feel more comfortable transitioning to high school.
She even learned how to play basketball, and received the Highlander Award for Leadership Involvement for her efforts.
Habiba’s favorite activity, though, was volunteering at UC Health, which she said “will help me in my future medical career.”
She explained that when she was younger, her father underwent a difficult surgery that restored his ability to walk.
The high school senior said she considered the procedure nothing short of “magic” and realized she then wanted to pursue a career in medicine.
“Most importantly, I came to appreciate that family is the unchanging support,” she wrote.
Why, that’s as American as apple pie, isn’t it? Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and… the Arabic Club.
The very epitome of assimilation into American culture is the hijab-wearing president of the high school Arabic club.
Yes, the Daily Mail has pictures of her grinning into the camera under her headscarf.
And all I’ll say about the hagiographic story USA Today wrote about Habiba Soliman, I’ll just let Joe Concha say…
There is no bottom for these publications. None. https://t.co/iPCfMaxAMS

Habiba Soliman isn’t going to college in America to study medicine. She and what’s left of her family were taken into custody and have had their visas revoked. They’re going back, either to Egypt or to Kuwait, which is where all the kids lived until two years ago after Mohamed Soliman brought them into the U.S. on his own ill-gotten coattails.
But naturally, there was this…
BREAKING: Colorado federal judge Gordon Gallagher, a Biden appointee, has issued an order blocking the Trump administration from deporting the wife and five children of Boulder terror suspect Mohamed Soliman. pic.twitter.com/Lo8R1Yp19E

That isn’t going to last. But of course it’s a Biden judge preventing the deportation, given it was the corporate Joe Biden on whose head the suffering of those victims in Boulder lies.
And while it’s a very sad thing for young Habiba to be packed off back to Dar al-Islam, it’s even sadder for the 12 people her father attempted to flamebroil with the 14 Molotov cocktails he brought with him to the scene of the crime, not to mention his backpack weed sprayer topped up with 87-octane gasoline. Soliman apparently planned this caper for a whole year, completely unbeknownst to his family, and was fortunate enough to be able to wait until three days after Habiba’s graduation before he attempted to kill all the Jews he could.
Totally in secret, don’t you know. Because throwing Molotov cocktails at the Hebrews is pristine evidence of full assimilation into American society.
Yes, of course, say the bleeding hearts, but there is no evidence the Soliman women were in on the plans of the pater familias, and so it’s unfair that Habiba’s dreams of healing the sick can’t be fulfilled in this country.
There’s an answer to that line of analysis. It comes from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whose opinion, as it turns out, carries more weight than that of CNN or USA Today.
In light of yesterday’s horrific attack, all terrorists, their family members, and terrorist sympathizers here on a visa should know that under the Trump Administration we will find you, revoke your visa, and deport you.

That seems like a pretty reasonable rule, at least most people would think so. Dogged application of that rule might be considered a not-half-bad deterrent to would-be Islamikaze killers — after all, one would surmise that Mohamed Soliman might have loved his daughter more than he hated those Jewish strangers on Pearl Street in Boulder, and if he knew that committing mass murder would serve as an obstacle to her American dream, perhaps he’d think twice…

Whoops!
Hey, it’s a good rule in theory.
But there’s a key point to be made here, isn’t there? How is it in America’s interest to import a culture wherein a father gives not one fig about the welfare of his children and plots for an entire year to murder total strangers over the ownership and control of a plot of land he traveled halfway across the world from, presumably to build a new life for his family?
These are not Americans. And Habiba’s bullshit essay attempting to fleece a college scholarship out of the local paper doesn’t prove she’s assimilating into our culture.
You say it isn’t fair that the sins of the fathers would be visited upon the sons, or in this case, the daughters? And because of that principle — the rejection of collective guilt — that Habiba Soliman should get a break?
Interesting.
Now you can explain the never-ending demands for “reparations” for slavery. Or the two-generation-long national struggle session that the Left has attempted to impose on straight, white Christian males for ancestral conduct that was no worse than that committed by any other contemporary demographic groups before the Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution, and Civil War combined to create this prosperous, Christian (or perhaps post-Christian) and mostly just comparative paradise on earth which is America.
No, the sins of the fathers are very much visited on the children in America. And the same people who are now playing the violins for Habiba Soliman have insisted on it until five minutes ago.
This family abused our hospitality. Habiba Soliman was attempting to take a college scholarship away from an American kid while her father was attempting to take away the lives of Americans on a busy college-town street.
Get rid of them. Now. No more discussion. And anyone else here on a visa from the State Department who wants to make a federal case out of that deportation should get a visit from ICE, too. Enough already.
