NextImg:Five Quick Things: The George Floyd–ization of Adam Schiff

Boy, what a spectacle the House Democrats made on Wednesday, no? You had to know they’d behave badly in response to efforts at holding Adam Schiff, their designated hitter when it came to spreading the Trump–Russia myth, accountable for his lies, but this?

You’d look at that cast of characters straight out of the Star Wars cantina scene, and you’d struggle to find any coherent thinking behind it. (READ MORE: With Schiff, House Democrats Declare Moral Bankruptcy)

The thing is, though, there is some.

1. They’re Not Wild Animals; They’re Zoo Animals — And There Is a Zookeeper

The impression you get from seeing the current batch of House Democrats, now that they’re not led by the doddering octogenarians Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and James Clyburn, is that they’re a collection of wackos, radicals, perverts, and hooligans: an unruly mob disguised as a congressional caucus.

And that’s a rational impression. You can’t ascribe strategic thinking to a group that has, for example, the purple-haired cat-lady Rosa DeLauro so prominently included.

But the Democrats in the House seem to have galvanized around three principles that they’ve made the core of their existence in this Congress — and that they’re hoping to ride back to power in 2024.

The first is that they fight together. It would have been pretty easy to throw Schiff overboard and then go on the offensive against all the Republicans with so much as a hangnail of ethics. You’ve seen how the Senate Democrats have launched an unprecedented assault on the Supreme Court, which is a thinly veiled attempt to delegitimize the court before it explodes the regulatory welfare that is Chevron deference and, in so doing, knock out a key pillar of Deep State governance. (RELATED: Cancel Chevron, Not Disney)

But they’ve closed ranks around Schiff, even though he’s a colossal liability. Think about it — poll after poll shows that Americans have lost faith in the government’s ability to operate honorably and to not meddle in elections, and what Schiff did was weaponize the source of that distrust. He’s literally the face of the lying Deep State, and he’s a smarmy jackass no more likable than Peter Strzok at that. And it doesn’t matter. They won’t leave any of their wounded in the field.

It’s hard to say that this is a political asset for them, but what it does do is let folks on their side know that there are rewards to sticking to the plan. And what comes from that is discipline. Self-reinforcing discipline.

Secondly, though, what this closing ranks around Schiff shows is that whatever The Narrative is, The Narrative is king. In this case, The Narrative is that Trump is a Russian asset who can’t be let back into power. It doesn’t matter that this has been vetted for years and proven to be a lie.

I could show tweet after tweet from the last couple of days emanating from prominent Democrat political figures claiming that Schiff was targeted because he told the truth and was effective. It’s nonsense and flapdoodle, but they won’t come off it no matter what. And what you come to eventually realize is that the substance of The Narrative is not what matters — the exercise does. Gaslight the people often enough and with suitably overwhelming frequency, and they’ll be cowed into accepting your line.

You do this when you can’t win the argument anymore. And they know they can’t. So backing Schiff even now is another example of escalating The Narrative until the other side simply gives up.

That might not be working — because the third pillar of House Democrat existence is that Donald Trump and his supporters are busily working to wreck “Our Democracy.”

That phrasing — “Our Democracy” — is quite peculiar. I’ll have to do a whole column on that subject soon. They say it incessantly, and, of course, it doesn’t mean what they want you to think it means.

But the fact that Schiff was the guy going after Trump means that, no matter how badly his lies are exposed and how over the top he is, he has to be lionized.

You can’t fight your war of attrition on local police without having a fraudulent hero like George Floyd to push the public relations, and so you can’t pursue the political annihilation of Trump without having an Adam Schiff being martyred to the cause of Our Democracy.

So it’s explainable. That doesn’t make it any less bizarre. This has to result in their ruin next fall, n’est-ce pas?

2. What Happened to That Little Submersible Was Awful. I Have Other Things to Care About.

Because the internet reacted badly to reports about that OceanGate submersible craft carrying tourists to the Atlantic oceanbottom to view the shipwreck of the Titanic that imploded and killed its well-heeled passengers, we’ve now seen lots of scolding about the callousness of the jokes, et cetera.

I’ll just offer my quick take — which is that it’s not that I have no sympathy for the people who almost assuredly will die in that submersible. I do.

It’s that I don’t have time and emotional energy to spend on people who were so careless with their money and lives that they threw 250K down on a trip to the bottom of the ocean on an unrated tin can to see a shipwreck that was already meticulously documented 18 years ago.

The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh made a lot of waves when he defended the passengers by noting their laudable spirit of adventure in wanting to go down to the bottom to see the wreck, something almost nobody has done. I get the spirit of adventure. But this isn’t really that.

Those people who got burned when the volcano blew off New Zealand and they were there, or people who get stranded climbing a mountain, or those whose parachutes don’t open — those things you look at and say they’re tragic, if maybe foreseeable, but you can say the juice is worth the squeeze.

But this? This was basically a rip-off by a woke billionaire who didn’t take care of his business before he huckstered his way into duping some rich clients, and the whole thing just looks like a massive “What Did You Think Would Happen?”

And I know, just like the rest of you know, that the only reason this has to get around-the-clock coverage is that it’s important to knock John Durham and Hunter Biden off the front page. Which is why I really bristle at the incessant media frenzy this week about the people who died aboard that tin can when the ocean crushed it.

3. You Know This Is Correct. What Are We Going to Do About It?

At FrontPage Magazine, Jason D. Hill has a terrific, spot-on piece about what the Alphabet People are really after. An excerpt:

MAP [minor-attracted persons] — that is, pedophiles — it is claimed, are as deserving of the same moral respect as are gay persons. This is not just a trivialization of pedophilia. It is, as many believe, a stealth move to de-criminalize pedophilia. If children can know and affirm their own gender identities from as young as five or six years old, if they can make rational and autonomous decisions regarding their transition from one gender to the next and give consent to varying degrees of gender modification surgeries from as young as fifteen years old and, in general, are seen as sovereign agents over their own bodies to such a profound extent that their declarative non-binary status is encouraged to be treated as an unassailable truth—then the implicit logical conclusion of MAP would be that children can easily and readily give consent to sex with adults.

There are those who would scoff and claim that it’s outrageous to say pedophilia is the end goal of the LGBTQ agenda. But if that’s so, then what limits short of that can we recognize?

Because no sooner did we get gay marriage than Pandora’s box tumbled out in front of us, legitimizing every kink and perversion as some sort of a civil rights cause.

And along the way, they’ve debauched everything they could get.

Maybe the grossest part of all of this is how if you argue with one of the females in this secular/perversionist community about virtually anything, you might well find yourself attacked on the basis that she has more sex partners than you and that this somehow validates her argument. As dumb as this sounds, it’s part of an intersectionalist theory that, for example, old straight white guys are undesirable and, therefore, do not have valid arguments to make.

To which the response, obviously, is: OK, groomer.

Hill’s suggestions on defeating this headlong rush toward validating pedophilia are fairly harsh. He’s talking about jailing groomer teachers and running major crackdowns on LGBTQ advocacy in the schools and media institutions. Whether or not that’s realistic, we’d better have a plan and a willingness to stick to it, because that movement is unmistakably seeking to corrupt America’s children.

4. On Hunter Biden’s Sweetheart Deal

This might be over the top, but it’s sincerely held.

After what’s nothing less than a middle finger to the face of Normal America in letting Hunter Biden off with pre-trial diversions and misdemeanor slaps on the wrist for failure-to-file tax charges when what he’s really guilty of is bribery and FARA violations, and we know that Deep State operatives have protected him at every turn, I have no confidence whatsoever in the federal judicial system now. (READ MORE: The Persecution of Alexei Navalny Could Not Happen Here)

In Arkansas and Florida, federal judges are declaring state laws banning pediatric sex-change surgeries (another tentacle of the normalizing-pedophilia octopus) to be unconstitutional, as though transing kids is somehow covered by the First and 14th Amendments. Whatever legitimacy the federal courts might have had goes out the window when federal judges tell states they can’t protect kids’ genitals from the butcher’s knife.

Couple that with what we see on the FBI and Justice Department, and screw this whole thing.

At this point, I’m predisposed to vote not guilty as a member of any federal jury I get dragooned onto.

Because if we’re going to have a two-tiered justice system where a career criminal like Hunter Biden escapes any meaningful prosecution for obvious crimes, then I question the federal government’s legitimacy to bring anyone to trial.

The Constitution doesn’t give the federal government any police powers. Those are supposed to be the province of the states. The states ceded that power to the feds, and it’s now very obvious that was a mistake.

And the FBI ought to be disbanded. When 70 percent of the country thinks the FBI is going to meddle in the 2024 election — which is perfectly rational, since the bureau clearly meddled in both the 2016 and 2020 elections — it’s no longer a legitimate government agency, and it ought not get a single dime of future funding. In fact, I’m going to demand a Defund the FBI pledge from any federal candidate who wants my vote going forward.

5. The Obama Book Gets Closer to Publication

As many of you guys know, I’ve got a new book coming out. The working title is Racism, Revenge, and Ruin: Obama’s Ongoing War on America.

It’s all about what Barack Obama has done and is still doing — in part through this puppet administration he and his people have foisted on us — to the country. If you think back to 2007, before anybody really gave much thought to the idea Obama could be president, and compare that time to today, we’re hardly the same country.

That’s Obama. It’s all his doing. The book talks about the ways he exploded our customs, ideas, preferences, and faith as a country and destabilized our society.

This thing was hard to write. It will make you angry to read it. But I think you’ll agree once you have that it’s a necessary read for anybody who really wants to understand recent American history and politics.

Anyway, it’ll be available for pre-sale in a couple of weeks. I’ll have more on that soon. And don’t forget — if you haven’t picked up your copy of The Revivalist Manifesto, those are still very much for sale!
