Over the weekend, the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro became America’s No. 1 rapper after he was featured in the song “Facts” by Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald.

The song, which was released on Friday, quickly hit the top of the charts just hours later,  becoming the No. 1 song in America on iTunes. (READ MORE: Conservative Ballers)

“I just want to thank God, [MacDonald], and my parents, who paid for 15 years of classical violin lessons so I could become the #1 rapper in America,” Shapiro said on X.

The song has 7.2 million views on YouTube and is trending at No. 2 for “music” on the same platform. MacDonald pushed back against leftist messaging on “offensive” and “controversial” issues, such as race, LGBTQ, and the police.

MacDonald said on X that he was shocked by how quickly the song topped the charts.

“I filmed ‘Facts’ alone in a warehouse with my family. We had NO IDEA it would turn into the monster that it has,” he explained.

Shapiro, who appeared in the video wearing a “Facts don’t care about your feelings” sweatshirt, called out both Nicki Minaj and Lizzo in his verse.

Nicki Minaj, with whom Ben Shapiro had an intense exchange last summer over her grossly explicit song “Pound Town 2,” went on to give Shapiro a shoutout.

“I just listened to it [Ben Shapiro] not bad. Congrats on #1,” Minaj said on X.

While the song has received widespread support from conservatives, Minaj’s positive comment led to outcry from her supporters. “Use me as the Nicki dislike button,” one user posted. (READ MORE: Snow White Changes Her Tune Under Pressure from Conservatives)

Shapiro responded to Minaj, saying, “Didn’t know what I was doing, but I put on a cape. Now it’s, ‘Which world tour should I go on today.’”

The song’s hit placement knocked many top pop stars down the charts.

“We’re now #1 overall on iTunes, too. On the way, we knocked off, among others, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, and Taylor Swift. [MacDonald] and I have officially made hip-hop great again, as was always my lifelong dream,” Shapiro said on X.
