While most spend the Fourth of July celebrating our great nation’s history, the ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s took the holiday to blast the United States for existing on “stolen land.”

Of course, the Ben & Jerry’s claim is absurd and would never be applied to any other country. Turkey, China, India, Greece, and every other country in history shaped its modern borders, at some point, through conflict and conquest.

The nice part about virtue signaling is that you don’t have to make sense; you just have to appease the woke moralists. In fact, it is well past time for Ben & Jerry’s to realize the business peril of siding with the woke. They are well known for pushing progressive agendas, including promoting anti-Israel action and featuring flavors like “Anti-Trump Pecan Resist.”

Perhaps Ben & Jerry’s hasn’t learned much from Target or Bud Light and needs to have a friendly reminder that trying to appease the mob will only destroy your company.

To the sensible mind, it would be wise for Ben & Jerry’s to stop working with suppliers who use child labor. Alas, apologizing about America’s past makes more money than ceasing the exploitation of children.
