Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard on Monday sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice outlining the Obama Administration’s weaponization of intelligence after the 2016 election to launch a years long coup against newly elected President Donald Trump.
On Friday, the DNI’s office released over 100 pages of memos, emails, and other materials revealing that Obama officials “manufactured and politicized intelligence” to create the narrative that Russia had attempted to influence the presidential election. The new information heavily implicates former President Barack Obama as the central figure in the Russiagate hoax.
The Justice Department confirmed Monday that it had received the criminal referral related to these bombshell findings.
According to the documents, the Intelligence Community (IC) under Obama had consistently determined that Russia lacked the intent and capability to impact the 2016 election via cyber attacks.
IC officials had reportedly prepared an assessment for the President’s Daily Brief on Dec 8, 2016, concluding that Russia “did not impact recent U.S. election results” by conducting cyber attacks on infrastructure.
Yet before the assessment could reach Obama, it was abruptly pulled “based on new guidance,” the documents show.
The next day, according to Gabbard, Obama called all of his top national security appointees to the White House for a meeting, including FBI Director James Comey, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, CIA Director John Brennan, Deputy CIA Director Avril Haines, DNI James Clapper, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Secretary of State John Kerry, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, White House Homeland Security Advisor Lisa Monaco, Deputy White House National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and Deputy Attorney General Mary McCord.
Obama allegedly directed the officials to concoct a new intelligence product accusing Russia of election meddling, despite the multiple intelligence assessments released over the previous several months that had concluded otherwise.
The new intelligence assessment claimed “Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election.”
“Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency,” the assessment added. “We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.”
Gabbard outlined the new revelations on X, Friday.
“Obama officials immediately leaned on their allies in the media to advance their falsehoods,” Gabbard wrote. “Anonymous IC sources leaked classified information to the Washington Post and others that Russia had intervened to hack the election in Trump’s favor.”
The DNI continued: “These documents detail a treasonous conspiracy by officials at the highest levels of the Obama White House to subvert the will of the American people and try to usurp the President from fulfilling his mandate.”
She concluded her thread, stating: “This betrayal concerns every American. The integrity of our democratic republic demands that every person involved be investigated and brought to justice to prevent this from ever happening again.”
Racket News investigative journalist Matt Taibbi posted on X Saturday that Obama is now at “center square” of the Russiagate investigation “and documents suggest his legacy—maybe even his freedom—are in jeopardy.”
He reiterated this view on Fox News Monday, telling host Bill Hemmer that the new documents “make it clear that the investigation is now aimed at the Obama White House and in particular, at Barack Obama, because of decisions that were made in early December 2016 to suppress the presidential daily briefing and go ahead and order a new intelligence community assessment that ultimately would have much more aggressive conclusions about Trump and Russia.”
Gabbard appeared on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo.
“It’s worse than even politicization of intelligence;” Gabbard told Bartiromo. “It was manufactured intelligence that sought to achieve President Obama’s and his team’s objective, which was undermining President Trump.”
“The implications of this are frankly nothing short of historic,” Gabbard declared.
“Over 100 documents that we released on Friday really detail and provide evidence of how this treasonous conspiracy was directed by President Obama just weeks before he was due to leave office after President Trump had already gotten elected. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. This is an issue that is so serious it should concern every single American because it has to do with the integrity of our democratic republic,” she said.
The former Obama administration officials implicated in Gabbard’s new revelations have thus far not responded to the allegations.
