As you’re well aware by now, earlier this year, President Donald Trump introduced a program that enables border czar Tom Homan and thousands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to detain illegal immigrants within this country in an effort to deport them to their home countries.
It’s very necessary, introduced mainly because former President Joe Biden fell asleep at the wheel when it came to securing our borders. Due to that, hundreds of thousands of migrants entered our country, with many focused on criminal activity, such as forming gangs and committing assaults and even homicides.
And it’s one that has proven truly effective, with thousands of arrests, successful deportations, and the creation of special facilities where these criminal migrants can be held safely while awaiting removal from the United States.
But, surprise, along with that comes criticism. Thousands have spoken out against the ICE program, insisting that it does more harm than good. People on social media have posted videos falsely portraying these officers as violent and uncaring, and many have also criticized facilities like “Alligator Alcatraz,” insisting that more humane treatment be given.
This comes despite foolish Democrats providing room and board to these immigrants, only for them to commit crimes against the very citizens providing that support. This has also cost cities millions—or even billions—of dollars, which hard-working taxpayers must now cover.
However, an eye-opening interview at Fox News is finally showing the side of ICE agents that we don’t see. It highlights the men and women working hard to make our city streets safe from criminal threats. This is the sort of video that many will likely try to discredit, if only to keep their false narrative rolling along. But the words of these officers speak volumes.
Ed, Christian, and Chris are officers who hail from Florida, Maryland, and Texas, respectively. Host Lara Trump asked them about their experience working as ICE agents and what drives them to keep going amidst ongoing pressure from politicians and radicals alike.
“What we’ve seen in California, Los Angeles, and New York, it is, in my opinion, unacceptable. We have to do our job. We raised our hands to defend the Constitution, and we are enforcing the law. So, we are adjusting as we see what’s going on in our country, but it’s saddened in my heart, especially when you serve in combat and you come back to see your country so divided.”
It really is eye-opening. You have these officers that are doing their job, their sworn duty, and as a result, they’re painted as villains, people who some believe are tearing apart the fabric of the American flag. Clearly, that is not the case.
“We’re humans, we’ve got a job to do,” one of the officers noted. “We’re not making up the law. It’s sad, but we keep pushing through it.”
That’s all you can do. They’re following orders in regard to keeping our country safe, and I can’t even imagine the insurmountable pressure they’re facing from these people who hate them merely because of a false narrative. It’s unbelievable.
The officers also noted the pressure they’re facing from death threats while trying to make sure their own families are safe. It’s insane to think that some are applying this pressure to the innocent families of those providing this service.
I implore you, if you have a chance, you should sit down and watch this video. It’s really an eye-opener when it comes to showing who ICE agents really are, rather than these villains they’re easily painted as. In fact, they make that point clear as day throughout the interview.
“We have to change the language, and we have to change the dynamics and the culture.”
Clearly that’s an uphill struggle—especially with those that already have their minds made up—but I do hope this video does manage to change a few minds. ICE officers are human beings, just like you and me. They’re doing a job, just like you and me.
Period.
