Embattled House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has been instrumental in getting a spending measure passed to continue the war in Ukraine by providing billions of dollars in arms, financed by more debt.

A majority of his Republican colleagues in the House voted against the Biden bill,  yet Speaker Johnson saved Biden’s Forever War bill by allying with Democrats in the House to pass it.

Now comes Johnson’s payback.

The conservative House members he betrayed – breaking his promise to force a deal on the border as a precondition of taking up the Biden Forever War Bill – now want to oust Johnson from the Speaker’s chair.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has told Johnson that his days as Speaker are numbered and has threatened to move on her Motion to Vacate the Speaker’s Chair.

But Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has promised that the Johnson-Democrat alliance to rule the House over and against the Republican majority is still in effect and that Democrats will vote to support Johnson as Speaker.

Jeffries, after a meeting of the House Democratic Caucus, released a statement, along with Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) and Democratic Chair Pete Aguilar (D-CA), declaring that they will “vote to table Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Motion to Vacate the Chair.”

Rep. Greene has responded by calling out Johnson as the Democratic Speaker of the House.

Greene says she would like to give Democrats the opportunity to officially vote for Johnson as the Democratic Speaker of the House along with other Uniparty Republicans who have backed Johnson’s actions in passing the $1.2 trillion Omnibus spending bill, the FISA renewal allowing warrantless spying on Americans and the Forever War spending bills.

Greene tweeted, “Americans deserve to see the Uniparty on full display. I’m about to give them their coming out party!”

As it stands, with the minority party’s support, Johnson will likely complete his term as Speaker and any correction will have to be applied by Johnson’s home district voting him out.
