NextImg:Rep. Jim Jordan Launches Investigation Into Illegal Immigrant Suspected in Boulder Terror Attack

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has opened an investigation into terror suspect Mohammed Sabry Soliman who is accused of carrying out a terror attack in Boulder, Colorado last week.

The Daily Caller reports that Jordan is expressing concerns over Soliman’s illegal immigration status in letters being sent to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Jordan is calling into question how Biden administration policies allowed Soliman to enter the United States and then to overstay his visa.

Soliman is accused of allegedly trying to set fire to several people who were attending a demonstration in support of 58 hostages held by Hamas.

The attack injured four men and four women, ranging in age from 52 to 88, all of whom were treated for burns and various injuries at Denver area hospitals.

Jordan’s letter also states that, “Soliman’s antisemitic attack also comes in the wake of oftentimes violent anti-Israel protests and harassment across the United States, including on college campuses.”

The letter cites the committee’s authority to oversee federal immigration policy and asks the DHS, “To assist the Committee with its continued oversight of federal immigration policy and procedures, we ask that you please provide the following materials regarding Mohammed Sabry Soliman, his wife, and his five children.”

Jordan is also specifically requesting the documentation of Soliman’s time in the U.S., asking for, “case history information, including, but not limited to, the aliens’ immigration history, immigration benefits applications, the alien file (A-file) or consular file (including all consular notes), and immigration detention status and history.”

Jordan lauded the Trump administration’s quick action to address the immigration crisis, saying, “During his first month back in office. President Trump quickly acted to combat antisemitism and protect Jewish students from foreign nationals who weaponize the U.S. immigration system to attack American values.”

Removal proceedings for Soliman’s wife and five children are paused after a federal judge in Colorado blocked the Trump administration from deporting them.
