Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA) has announced that he is drafting legislation to create an FBI “Antifa Most Wanted List” directed at individuals most involved in ongoing violence linked to the radical left-wing movement.
In a post on the social media platform X on Saturday, Issa said, “It’s time for zero tolerance for this domestic terrorism.”
Issa’s pledge to target antifa leaders comes just a week after President Trump signed an executive order designating antifa as a terrorist organization.
The executive order states, “Antifa is a militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and our system of law.”
The order also accuses antifa of using “illegal means to organize and execute a campaign of violence and terrorism nationwide” and of recruiting, training and radicalizing young Americans to “engage in this violence and suppression of political activity.”
According to the White House, antifa activists utilize “elaborate means and mechanisms” to hide the identities of its operatives and to conceal its funding sources and operations in an effort to hamper law enforcement.
The accused shooter of conservative activist Charlie Kirk allegedly left behind bullets inscribed with anti-fascist slogans commonly parroted by antifa.
The order directs “all relevant executive departments and agencies” to investigate, disrupt and dismantle “any and all illegal operations” being conducted by or on behalf of antifa, including those who are providing material support for the movement.
Portland, Oregon has been a hotspot of antifa activity over the past 5 years and is currently the scene of ongoing unrest surrounding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions.
Last week, President Trump announced plans to deploy federal troops to Portland, with the Pentagon calling up 200 members of the National Guard to protect federal immigration facilities against what Trump called “domestic terrorists” and authorizing those troops to use “full force, if necessary.”
Issa has previously introduced legislation that added Hamas leaders to the FBI’s list of most wanted terrorists.
That list was created following the September 11, 2001 attacks as a supplement to the FBI’s legendary list of Most Wanted Fugitives.
