Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) said the U.S. has “no business” continuing to siphon U.S. taxpayer money to Ukraine, a country that ranks near the bottom of all countries for government corruption.

Ukraine ranks 104th out of 180 countries on Transparency International’s 2023 Corruption Index.

“Across the (Eastern European) region, many governments control the judiciary and law enforcement institutions to maintain impunity for corruption for those in their privileged circles,” reported Transparency International writing that this is the case for Ukraine.

Ukraine lived up to it’s corruption index ranking last week by cancelling its elections.

Despite Ukraine’s corruption and cancelled elections, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) “revealed his intent to take action on Ukraine aid soon after lawmakers return to Washington next week,” reported Fox News.

Crane called Johnson’s desire to provide more funding to Ukraine “absurd.”

And it’s Johnson’s commitment to funding corrupt Ukraine that even prompted Tucker Carlson to ask if Johnson has been blackmailed.
