After announcing that the United States military “completely obliterated” three nuclear sites in Iran, President Trump Saturday night thanked God and asked the Lord to protect the U.S. military.
Flanked by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump described the US military strikes on the Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities as a “spectacular military success” in remarks from the White House.
“Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated,” Trump said.
According to Fox News, American B-2 stealth bombers dropped six bunker busters on Fordow, obliterating the site.
The Natanz and Estefan nuclear sites were reportedly destroyed by Tomahawk Missiles launched by American submarines some 400 miles away.
The president thanked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said they had worked closely together ahead of the strikes.
“We worked as a team like perhaps no team has worked before,” Trump said.
Calling Iran “the Bully of the Middle East” Trump said the country must now make peace or the next attacks “will be far greater and a lot easier.”
But the president made clear that he did not want the hostilities to continue.
“There will either be peace, or there will be tragedy for Iran far greater than we have witnessed for the last eight days,” Trump said. “Remember, there are many targets left. Tonight’s was the most difficult of them all.”
Trump added that if Iran doesn’t surrender, the United States will hit those other targets “with precision, speed and skill.”
Trump ended his brief address Saturday evening, saying: “I want to just thank everybody and in particular—God. I want to just say, we love you God and we love our great military—protect them.”
The president added: “God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel and God Bless America.”
In a short address Saturday night, Netanyahu congratulated Trump on his “bold decision” to strike the Iranian nuclear sites, saying: “His leadership today has made a pivot of history that can help lead the Middle East and beyond to a future of prosperity and peace.”
“History will record that President Trump acted to deny the world’s most dangerous regime the world’s most dangerous weapons. His leadership today has created a pivot of history that can help lead the Middle East and beyond to a future of prosperity and peace,” Netanyahu added.
Trump first announced the successful strikes on Truth Social, saying: “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Trump later posted: “ANY RETALIATION BY IRAN AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE MET WITH FORCE FAR GREATER THAN WHAT WAS WITNESSED TONIGHT. THANK YOU! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”
