At least one congressman has taken steps to begin an impeachment process against a left-wing judge who tried to stop President Donald Trump from deporting Venezuelan gang members.

As reported by Fox News, Congressman Brandon Gill (R-Texas) announced his plans to file articles of impeachment on Saturday, the same day that U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg tried to rule that President Trump was not allowed to deport the illegal aliens. In a post on X, Congressman Gill listed the numerous crimes of which the gang members were accused, including sexual abuse of a child and kidnapping, before simply declaring “impeachment articles in process.”

Elon Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), reposted Congressman Gill’s announcement and concurred that such a move was “necessary.” He added in another post that “the very worst judges – those who repeatedly flout the law – should at least be put to an impeachment vote, whether that vote succeeds or not.”

The order from Boasberg, who was appointed to his seat by former President Barack Obama, tried to issue a 14-day restraining order against the Trump Administration after the White House invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1789 to expedite deportations of foreigners. Boasberg issued his order after a lawsuit by the far-left American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which had been filed in support of the illegals.

But the Trump Administration carried out the deportations anyway, in defiance of Boasberg’s order. The illegals who were deported were members of the notoriously violent Venezuelan gang Tren De Aragua (TDA), which the White House declared to be “conducting irregular warfare and undertaking hostile actions against the United States.” TDA was one of several Latin American gangs that the Trump Administration has since designated as a foreign terrorist organization.
