The National Security Agency (NSA) has launched an investigation into an internal agency message board that was believed to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), but instead simply allowed federal employees to discuss their sexual fantasies.
As reported by Fox News, the nature of the particular “Intelink” chat was first discovered by the Manhattan Institute. Federal employees discussed their experiences with genital mutilation surgery, polyamorous relationships, and use of pronouns. Employees implicated in the chats came from such agencies as the Defense Intelligence Agency and U.S. Naval Intelligence, as well as the NSA itself.
The chats went into graphic detail about sexual experiences, including arousal during the various surgeries and hormone treatments, as well as their sex lives beyond the operations themselves.
The chat logs were released on Monday, at which point an NSA spokesman said that the agency is “actively investigating” potential abuses of government resources that were committed as a result of the chat’s existence.
“NSA hosts the Intelink service for the Intelligence Community. As the service provider, NSA takes very seriously the allegations in this reporting, and, if accurate, they would be violations of long-standing Intelligence Community policy,” said the NSA spokesman. “The Intelligence Community places great trust in those personnel that we authorize to access U.S. Government systems, and in return we expect full compliance with all laws, policies, and regulations which govern our work.”
Tulsi Gabbard, the newly-confirmed Director of National Intelligence (DNI), also issued a statement denouncing the behavior and rhetoric in the chats as “unacceptable,” and vowing that “those involved WILL be held accountable.”
“These disgusting chat groups were immediately shut down when [the president] issued his EO ending the DEI insanity the Biden Admin was obsessed with,” said Director Gabbard in a post on X. “Our IC must be focused on our core mission: ensuring the safety, security, and freedom of the American people.”
