The man who attacked a federal agent with a Subway sandwich in Washington D.C., Wednesday, worked at the Department of Justice—until today.
Sean Charles Dunn, 37, was captured on video screaming in the faces of law enforcement officers and calling them “fascists” before hitting a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in the chest with the sandwich.
“The FBI arrested this individual last night,” FBI Director Kash Patel announced on X, Thursday. “He has been charged with felony assault on a federal officer.”
Later Thursday, D.C. US Attorney Jeanine Pirro revealed on X that she had just discovered Dunn worked for the Justice Department, and that he had just been fired.
“If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you,” Pirro wrote. “I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony.”
The former New York D.A. and judge held Dunn up as an example of what the Trump administration was having to deal with throughout the “deep state.”
“This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ,” Pirro stated. “You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement.”
President Trump’s mobilization of federal officers into Washington D.C. has prompted a massive outcry from Democrats and their allies in the media, with protests erupting throughout the city.
On Tuesday, a group of anti-Trump protesters marched in the street, shouted through bullhorns and blew whistles. Tense scenes erupted late Wednesday, as protesters clashed with law enforcement in the nation’s capital.
Regarding the sandwich-throwing incident, Pirro stated on X Wednesday that “the police are not out there to get pushed around or beat up.”
“This guy thought it was funny,” and that if you “Assault a law enforcement officer,” “you’ll be prosecuted,” she wrote.
