NextImg:Joy Reid Bawls on Camera After Her Show Is Axed

Fired MSNBC host Joy Reid broke down in tears while addressing her show’s cancellation Monday, sobbing that The ReidOut “had value” and that she was “proud” of her show.

The New York Times reported on Sunday the racially divisive host’s program was being axed as part of a major overhaul “orchestrated by Rebecca Kutler, the network’s new president.”

President Trump cheered the show’s cancellation on Truth Social Sunday night, calling Reid “one of the least talented people in television” and a “mentally obnoxious racist.”

Reid appeared to be emotionally devastated in a media interview, Monday.

“My show had value … What I was doing had value, she trembled through tears, adding “I’m sorry imma try not to cry on TV.”

Reid acknowledged that she “went hard” on many issues, including “Black Lives Matter issues,” claiming “1619 was the real founding of this country,” “Asian Americans being targeted-not just black folks,” “immigrants who done nothing but come to this country,” what President Trump “is doing that is subversive to the Constitution,” and “Gaza.”

Reid defiantly declared that she is not sorry because “those things are of God” and she is “just proud of my show.”

Reid’s staff at MSNBC apparently didn’t learn that her show was being canceled until they read about it in media reports.

After the news had leaked to the press, Kutler reportedly summoned staffers of Reid’s program to “an impromptu virtual meeting,” where they “expressed frustration and disbelief, Status News’s Oliver Darcy reported.

During the 30-minute meeting, according to Darcy, some of the staffers expressed outrage that they had learned about the show’s doomed fate from reports in the media rather than leadership. Others demanded to know why the low-rated show was being canceled and wanted to know if they would still be employed at MSNBC.

The final episode of The ReidOut will air this week, according to the Times report.

Her slot will be replaced by a new show led by three current MSNBC commentators, Democratic strategist Symone Sanders Townsend, former RNC Chairman Michael Steele and journalist Alicia Menendez.

Reid had hosted her show since 2020, and had been with the network since 2014. Her program, a bastion of toxic, dishonest, anti-Trump and anti-white conspiracy theories, was a ratings loser, usually coming in a distant third place behind Fox News and CNN in the 7:00 pm timeslot.

Conservatives celebrated Reid’s firing on social media, including independent journalist Megyn Kelly, who cheered Reid’s fall from grace as poetic justice after the race-obsessed host had repeatedly mocked “Karens” and their “white tears.”

“Remember when Joy Reid laughingly mocked ‘white women tears’ as pathetic and offensive to her?” Kelly posted on X. “Who’s crying now, Joy? Good riddance to the absolute worst person on television, and shame on NBC for letting it go on this long.”

“Genuinely shattered that the uniquely awful Joy Reid has been sacked,” Sky News’ Rita Panahi posted on X. “She has provided Lefties Losing It with so much content.
Not only is she a nasty, extreme Left race-baiter but she’s stupendously stupid.”

Libs of TikTik quipped: “Turns out calling your political opponents racist Nazis every night for an hour doesn’t get viewers.”

Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk said Reid’s show was cancelled “because it was unwatchable.”

“Good riddance to the most vitriolic, lowbrow, and unhinged race hustler ever allowed on national television,” Kirk wrote on X.

Conservative influencer Robbie Starbuck saw the firing as a “hopeful” sign that the nation is healing after years of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Critical Race Theory (CRT) inspired propaganda in the media.

“Joy Reid is a racist and I’m happy she lost her job on TV,” he posted on X.  “Her low ratings are a hopeful signal that many are sick and tired of anti-White garbage and intentionally stoked racial division. Most want to Make America Great TOGETHER, and we will!”

On Truth Social late Sunday President Trump also commented on the show’s demise:

“Lowlife Chairman of ‘Concast,’ Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenged NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid,” Trump wrote. “Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been ‘canned’ long ago, along with everyone else who works there.”

The president noted that MSNBC host Alex Wagner, “the sub on the seriously failing Rachel Maddow show,” was also fired.

“Rachel rarely shows up because she knows there’s nobody watching, and she also knows that she’s got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, Joy Reid,” Trump said. “Then there’s, of course, the LOW IQ Con Man, Al Sharpton, who has, perhaps, the lowest TV ratings in the history of television. What is he doing to Brian Roberts to stay on the air?”

Trump went on to call MSNBC a “corrupt operation” that “is nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democrat Party.”

He concluded: “They should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our Country. Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!”
