Joe Biden on Thursday insisted that he made all the decisions during his tenure in the White House and called any suggestions to the contrary “ridiculous and false.”

Biden’s comments came one day after President Donald Trump issued a Presidential Memorandum directing his White House counsel, in consultation with the Attorney General Pam Bondi, to investigate Biden’s executive actions, including his pardons and the use of an autopen for signatures. The president also ordered an investigation into efforts by Biden’s top aides to hide his cognitive decline.

The Memorandum directs an investigation into whether certain individuals conspired to deceive the public about Biden’s mental state and unconstitutionally exercise the authorities and responsibilities of the President.

The Memorandum also mandates an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Biden’s purported execution of the numerous executive actions during his final years in office, examining policy documents signed with an autopen, who authorized its use, and the validity of the resulting Presidential policy decisions.

While the Justice Department has long recognized the use of a mechanical signature pen to sign legislation and issue presidential pardons, Trump argues that the Biden White House abused the autopen to execute the vast majority of Biden’s executive actions.

“In recent months, it has become increasingly apparent that former President Biden’s aides abused the power of Presidential signatures through the use of an autopen to conceal Biden’s cognitive decline,” the memo states.

Despite Biden’s cognitive deficiencies, the White House issued over 1,200 Presidential documents, appointed 235 judges to the Federal bench, and issued more pardons and commutations than any Administration in U.S. history.

Just two days before Christmas in 2024, Biden commuted the sentences of 37 of the 40 most vile and monstrous criminals on Federal death row, including several child killers and mass murderers.
The authority to take these executive actions is constitutionally reserved for the President, yet the Biden White House used an autopen to execute the vast majority of Biden’s executive actions, particularly during the second half of his Presidency.

“With the exception of the RIGGED PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020, THE AUTOPEN IS THE BIGGEST POLITICAL SCANDAL IN AMERICAN HISTORY!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Wednesday.

Biden on Thursday slammed the Trump administration’s probe into his mental competence during his term in the White House as “nothing more than a distraction.”

“Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false,” a statement attributed to Biden reads.

“This is nothing more than a distraction by Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans who are working to push disastrous legislation that would cut essential programs like Medicaid and raise costs on American families, all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations,” the statement added.

While in office, Biden and his aides routinely waved off concerns about his mental acuity, but after his disastrous debate against Trump last June, leading Democrats knew the jig was up and forced him off the  presidential ticket.

Questions about Joe Biden’s cognitive health during his term in office have intensified in recent weeks due to the release of the book “Original Sin,” by Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper, which details efforts by White House officials to “cover-up” Biden’s obvious mental decline.

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability announced this week that it has expanded its investigation into alleged efforts by Biden staffers to cover-up Biden’s cognitive struggles.

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, said more senior officials will be called to testify before the House Oversight Committee.

“Every staffer will be coming forward an answering questions voluntarily,” Comer told Fox News’s Sean Hannity Tuesday evening. He said they all understand that if they refuse to come in voluntarily, they will be subpoenaed.

Late last month, Rep. Comer sent interview requests to Jill Biden’s Chief of Staff Anthony Bernal, former director of the Domestic Policy Council Neera Tanden, former assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini, and former deputy director of Oval Office operations Ashley Williams.

On Wednesday, the chairman called on additional former Biden staff to appear before Congress: Ronald Klain, former Chief of Staff; Michael Donilon, former Senior Advisor to the President; Anita Dunn, former Senior Advisor to the President for Communications; Bruce Reed, former Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy; and Steve Ricchetti, former Counselor to the President. Comer has also requested testimony from Dr. Kevin O’Connor, former White House physician, regarding Joe Biden’s health.

In a memorandum to then-White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in July of 2024, O’Conner declared that Biden had been administered “an extremely detailed neurologic exam, and was found to be “completely fit for the Presidency…”

“I gave Joe Biden’s doctor a simple choice: cooperate or be subpoenaed,” Comer wrote on X, Wednesday. “I’m now sending a subpoena. The American people demand answers and @GOPoversight is working swiftly to get them.”

The chairman said Wednesday that the five former senior advisors “were eyewitnesses to President Biden’s condition and operations within the Biden White House. They must appear before the House Oversight Committee and provide truthful answers about President Biden’s cognitive state and who was calling the shots.”

The Oversight Committee attempted to subpoena  Bernal, Tomasini and Williams last July, but according to Comer, “the Biden White House blocked these individuals from providing testimony.”

“The American people deserve full transparency and the House Oversight Committee is conducting a thorough investigation to provide answers and accountability. The cover-up of President Biden’s mental decline is one of the greatest scandals in our nation’s history,” Comer said in a statement.
