For nearly four years, the American people have been assured by those in power that the 2020 election was fair, honest and above board, with no evidence of election interference.

Now the House Judiciary Committee, Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence have released a report proving that CIA contractors conspired with the Biden campaign in 2020 to mislead American voters by attempting to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop story.

A letter, signed by 51 former intelligence officials, dismissed the incriminating content on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop computer as a “Russian disinformation” operation.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) says those former government officials, including active CIA contractors, betrayed the public trust by protecting their preferred candidate and directing an influence operation against American voters in the weeks before the 2020 election.

The latest report from the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government says high-ranking CIA officials, up to and including then-CIA Director Gina Haspel were made aware of the Hunter Biden laptop letter prior to its approval and publication.

It also notes that some of the statement’s signatories, including Michael Morrell and CIA Inspector General David Buckley, were on active contract with the CIA at the time of the statement’s publication.

The Committee also found that after publication of the Hunter Biden statement, some CIA employees internally expressed concern about the statement’s politicized content and acknowledged that it was “not helpful to the agency in the long run.”

Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) said the House Intelligence Committee’s work has provided solid evidence that the former intelligence officials were coordinating with the Biden campaign to cast doubt on the New York Post article that broke the story about Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop and its contents.

The Committee’s report concludes that the signatories of the letter, improperly leveraged the authority of the intelligence community, some of them on the taxpayer’s dime, to peddle a narrative about foreign election interference and to inappropriately embroil the CIA in the domestic political process.

They are calling for continued oversight of the intelligence community and a need for substantial reforms and safeguards to prevent further leveraging of access to the CIA for political purposes.
