Members of the Texas National Guard were overwhelmed by a horde of illegal immigrants Thursday as they tore down a razor wire barrier in El Paso and stormed across the border.

A shocking video posted on X shows illegal aliens pulling the barricade open as four National Guardsmen unsuccessfully try to keep them at bay.  The video, posted by the New York Post’s Texas reporter Jennie Taer, shows the illegals breaking through and charging past the National Guard troops to a second, sturdier barrier.

“Absolute chaos here,” wrote Taer.

A Texas law enforcement source told Fox News’ Bill Melugin that the hostile action “involved a group of several hundred illegal aliens, mostly single adult men who rushed the soldiers, and one has been arrested so far for assaulting a soldier.” Melugin reported that “more arrests likely coming for destruction of property & more assaults.”

“This is only going to get worse,” warned the Border Patrol Union (NBPC) on X. “It’s just the beginning. The anarchy Joe Biden and his radical leftist mob have unleashed on Americans is despicable.”

Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement after the video went viral Thursday, saying “the TX National Guard & Dept. of Public Safety (DPS) quickly regained control & are redoubling the razor wire barriers.”

He added: “DPS is instructed to arrest every illegal immigrant involved for criminal trespass & destruction of property.”

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Tuesday placed a new hold on Senate Bill 4, the controversial Texas immigration law that allows Texas officials to arrest, prosecute and deport suspected illegal immigrants.
