Federal agents shut down a large group of antifa rioters who were swarming an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland, Oregon,  Wednesday night, deploying rubber bullets, tear gas and flash bangs to disperse the mob.

Earlier Wednesday, about 250 antifa agitators, most of them wearing masks, some wearing Palestinian keffiyehs scarves, had marched on the streets near the facility.

The anti-ICE militants had reportedly been laying siege against the facility for the past week and a half.

Video captured by Turning Point USA’s Frontlines showed a group of agitators  trying to prevent a Homeland Security caravan from entering the ICE building. Dozens of federal agents ordered the mob to leave or stay off the property.  Later on, hundreds gathered outside of the building in an attempt to block the entrance, “aggressively shouting at federal officers guarding the building,” according to Frontlines.

According to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statement Thursday morning, the rioters had “launched fireworks, shined lasers in officers’ eyes to temporarily blind them, and stormed an ICE field office.”

After issuing multiple warnings to the mob to disperse, officers in riot gear moved in, firing munitions and tear gas at the militants, forcing them to retreat.

When smoke grenades were launched at riot police, they responded with overwhelming force.

“Absolute shock and awe campaign by Homeland Security in Portland,” Frontlines reported. “Antifa is getting smoked out and crushed outside the ICE building!”

Later on, an antifa militant tried to block the entrance of the ICE building with a dumpster, prompting a barrage of non-lethal blast balls to rain down from a sniper up on the roof.

The feds eventually wheeled away the dumpster, prompting boos from the antifa militants as they retreated.

Homeland Security said in their statement Thursday that they “won’t sit idly by and watch these cowards.”

Our officers are facing a 413% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest murderers, rapists, and gang members. Secretary Noem’s message to the rioters is clear: you will not stop us or slow us down. ICE and our federal law enforcement partners will continue to enforce the law. And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

DHS said five rioters were arrested on “various charges including assault on federal law enforcement.”
